Goodbye High School; Hello err.. College!?

I’m so not into high school drama. But of course, being a regular high school student, it makes me a part of it no matter how I try to hide from the soap opera. High school life is mostly referred to by some as “the best part of your life”.

Honestly, I can’t say that it is the case for me. Why? I’m not a very intelligent person as what my parents believed I am. Though I was quite fortunate because I belong to the NODE section in our school

since first year. Our section, IV- Abad Santos is often referred to by some as the “cream of the crop”; we have our own version though, “cream of the crAp”, hehe.

Joking aside, being in this section isn’t easy, we have additional subjects (e.g. Devt’l Reading, Advanced Chemistry, Calculus, Anal. Geom., Advanced Statistics) which are of college standards. Definitely, it’s not your average high school section. Our exam in Calculus is under a two-seats-apart rule and that made our lives even harder. Pressure is bugging us almost all the time. Some of my classmates were actually cramming, and you can see it from their faces. But I believe on the dictum, ” Life is a matter of choice.” And our choice is to live life happily, despite the pressure brought to us by our academics..

Now that we’ve just left the portals of our Alma Mater, I’ll really miss my entire HS life, all the good and fun memories will last a lifetime. I’ll treasure even those not-so-good ones for these made me a better and a stronger person. It helped me a lot about facing problems, and I know there are more to worry about in college.

College as they say is one’s real-life education. It doesn’t mean that your grade and high school efforts were such a waste of time, though. It was also important since it honed our skills, academically, extra-curiccular activities and our personality. It’s a great help as our motivation for success in college. People say that if your parents is at your side 24/7 way back your grade and HS days; in college, you’ll never see moms giving pats on students’ back on the campus.

Students here are now near-adults and so must face life’s challenges, whether academics or real-life situation and must be able to face consequences of their own actions. It will help them (us, rather) to be more responsible in life.

Hmm.. I guess I just have to bid farewell to my high school life and hello to a
more diverse and complex life, college!

With a lot of problems I’ve conquered on the way, I know, I’m ready to face the college life!
