CHR declares Tanauan ‘encounter’ a rob out
The Commission on Human Rights (CHR), with their newly appointed chair Atty. Leila De Lima, said that the Tanauan City encounter between four of the six RCBC robbery-murder suspects and the PNP last May 16 was a rob out. The CHR based their conclusion on (1) the lack of search warrants, (2) the lack of evidence that links the four men to the RCBC incident and (3) the precise bullet holes found in the houses of the slain men – because if the PNP and the men indeed had an encounter, then the bullet holes would have been plenty, found everywhere and not strategically and precisely clustered in specific areas.
The CHR now demands that the PNP give them, among others, the complete list of the cops who were present in that operation. The PNP, on the other hand, will cooperate with the CHR but they will stand by their initial report that it was not a summary execution a.k.a. rob out and that they have proof that the four men had indeed been involved with the RCBC incident. So far, the PNP still has no leads regarding the two uniformed men that are also suspects in the case.
The Hype That Was Gone
Jeric Peña wrote an interesting piece entitled, “The Hype That Was Gone” on My Boring Life… Now A Blog | Pinoy Idol. Here is an excerpt.
Few years ago, I was surprised to see the advertisement being shown on ABC 5 with the tagline, “Hindi lang Star… Hindi lang Superstar,” “Hinahanap na ang bagong Idol ng Bayan” and many others. The advertisement was about Philippine Idol, the local version of American Idol. I was really excited that finally we got our own version of the Idol series. I could still remember creating a website dedicated to Philippine Idol. There were also times that I provided a live stream of Philippine Idol since people who are outside the country can’t see the show or to those in places where ABC 5’s signal is low or non-existent. I must admit that I bought our TV Tuner mainly for Philippine Idol.

ümobile Customer Service love

Most people who have received an invite code from approved ümobile subscribers have been reporting login issues — and I’m one of them. Mr. Angelo Teves of ümobile called me last night to clear things out, including the page to invite your friends that mysteriously vanished which Mike mentioned here on my blog.
Apparently, newly registered users who have used an invite code to register cannot immediately login to their ümobile account. Your application needs to be approved by ümobile. The first need to verify the information you have entered during the registration process.
Fishball Memories
Fishballs! Squidballs! Quail eggs! Kikiam!
I was just in Diliman for an errand yesterday, and any visit to my college alma mater is not complete without a pit-stop at the decripit COOP to get my fill of these goodies. Not because I think it’s more sanitary – it’s just the only place where I’ve gotten street food with no adverse consequences following.
Being a doctor, you’d think I would be more wary of any kind of street food – but, truth is, it takes a good deal of willpower for me not to just buy them from anywhere.
Quezon Trip
My vacation trips continued last Friday with my officemates to Real, Quezon. After office, we had our dinner at SM MegaMall then we went to a certain terminal in Manila going to Quezon. We almost occupied the van since we were eight people. It was a long trip to Quezon, that’s all I can say. When the other passengers requested to stop to the nearest gasoline station, we were able to take pictures and used the comfort room. The next stop was already in Quezon were we had “arozcaldo complete.” Complete meaning arozcaldo with chicken, egg and chicharon. That arozcaldo only costs 25 pesos, cheap right?

Judy Ann Santos, TV Commercial Queen
This month a lot of new TV commercials flashed our TV screens. I also noticed that Judy Ann Santos conquered the advertising scene with her many TV commercials. Here so far are her TV commercials: Maggie Magic Sarap, Datu Puti Vinegar, Pantene Shampoo, Fitrum, Pride Detergent, Angel Condensada, a certain Splash product and Lactacyd feminine wash. One TV commercial that really stand out was her newest Pantene Shampoo commercial. Would you believe that she is hailed as one of the most beautiful woman in the Philippines? Judy Ann Santos and Claudine Barretto replaced Angel Aquino and Dawn Zulueta in the Pantene commercial. Is this most beautiful ad campaign just for promotion or people really voted? With her huge transformation, she really deserved this title.

Does any of you heard what happened to Archie Lacson and his gang of the PENTHOUSE LIVE? Is Chairman Bayani Fernando really serious of his intention to run for President in the 2010 election? TV Advertisements of Senators
Senate President Manny Villar’s TV commercial about his helping to OFW was circulating during primetime TV. If Bayani Fernando was known for his early campaigning with his huge billboards, Senate President Manny Villar is known for his TV commercials. The richest Philippine Senator I suppose funded for this TV commercial just to let the public known his presence. As if the public aren’t aware that he is already campaigning.
