Why men don’t like shopping with women

Earlier today, sweetie expressed -”its a good thing you do not ask me to accompany you when you go shopping”. I asked him why he asked and if he wanted to go (because I would ask him if he wanted). He shook is head, grimaced and said – absolutely NOT.

Jeepney-bashing

I do not agree that mass transit systems like Metro Manila’s LRT/MRT will cause buses and jeepneys to stop running and just phase out.

The prognosis of this DOTC official is simply outrageous. He said “buses and jeepneys will voluntarily leave Metro streets” once the government complete its railway system.

The rail system cannot simply accommodate all commuters in Metro Manila. In fact, today it is running at full capacity and its operators plan to acquire more coaches.

In Davao, a university professor proposed that the city government adopt a bus system and do away with jeepneys.

During the 1970s, many subdivisions in the city have their bus system mostly owned and ran by homeowners associations.

Finding the Balance

I came across two articles from the GMA news feed two days ago, both about the establishment of proposed renewable energy power plants and the opposition they presently face from local constituents. I quote them both at some length and say my two-cents’ worth here

Reasons why terrorists and illegal aliens managed to sneak into America

Do you know why terrorists and illegal aliens like the so called Filipino TNT (“tago ng tago” means “keep on hiding”) managed to get into the United States of America?

I know.

This is because US consular officers are merely psychologizing applicants who are applying for a tourist visa. Naturally, wolves hiding behind sheep skins are very difficult to detect.

Believe me, I have seen this loophole myself.

Three days ago, I applied for a tourist visa to America. Three of my siblings were granted 10 years valid visa two weeks before. So, I got thrilled of joining them to tour around the US.

Unfortunately, I was wrongly psychologized and get denied.

The reason? The lady consul thought I am not financially capable of going to America and that I have no reason to come back to the Philippines.

Why did she reach that conclusion? Well, I supposed she judged me by the way I looked. I am not beautiful and was not dressed to the nines.

Or probably she was just too intimidated of me because of the fact that a very humble looking dark Filipino woman like me manages to travel to Europe every year with the whole family while she just sits around 365 days a year infront of this glass window scrutinizing every Filipino who dreams of entering the Land of Uncle Sam.
