‘Laban na Banal’ post fight blog

AJ Banal really looked good in the first half of the fight. But after the sixth round, Rafael Concepcion begin to do what he does best, which is to charge against his opponent, hence the nick name ‘El Torito’ (The Little Bull).

Dressing up for work

Although I work at Makati CBD, the type of work I do does not require me to face clients often. If I have to be honest, I mostly spend my days (and nights) typing away at my laptop to connect to different people in different places around the world. I can say that about 75% of my colleagues do not even wear makeup (huwaaat?! – yea my mom has the same reaction). This means, I can be as lousy and as unkempt as I could be (not that I want to) and my laptop will not crash on me.

Geek Jam LAN Party in Cebu

A LAN party is a gathering of PC Gaming and Network enthusiasts for the purpose of playing multiplayer PC and/or online games. It is also a meeting of PC, gadget and game console enthusiasts who are looking to play games, share files and computer and gadget know-how, as well as to show and display their “rigs”, which is the normal term for PCs that are modified and customized to the owner’s taste and specifications, much like in a car show, only with PCs, laptops and game consoles.

Boy Zuño

A premonition? After last Tuesday night’s So Kim Cheng Sports Awards, I and three other councilors had a nightcap at the lobby bar of Grand Regal Hotel. Councilors Danilo Dayanghirang, Nilo Abellera, Leo Avila III and myself reminisced how we all started in politics.

Turns out he was one of the lecturers in the famous "The Last Lecture" series at CMU. At that time, he was just...

SONA Primer

I don’t see why we should all get excited over this year’s SONA. If it’s all going to be lies and nothing else, why bother?

A report about the nation; that’s what this should be about: not propaganda, not white washing and certainly not weaving illusions. This country has had enough and we deserve to hear it straight without PGMA’s made up fantasies of how she’s doing such an excellent job in manning this country to greatness. If there’s anything she’s good at, its making this country sink even lower than it is.

Most corrupt in Asia – that says it all. This country, I believe, has always been a consistent runner up in that ‘most corrupt’ list since perhaps Erap’s time. But thanks to PGMA, she’s elevated this country’s image to new heights. What, with those unresolved murders of journalists and activists and with that cheating fiasco back in 2004? And let’s not forget about those corruption charges made against her and her better half, the  countless impeachment cases against her and oh, her illegitimacy. Such awesomeness, don’t you think?
