BOHOL 2-day Tour (with Itinerary)

July 29, 2008

My team mate, PIO wanted to visit the island of Bohol as he was never been there. Much of a thought that me and my girl pals have been to that picturesque local place, we offered a suggestion to tour him around. It was a plan out of the blue. And it’s been quite a while that we thought of re-visiting as we would like to feel the Loboc river cruise experience which we never had during our first time in it (it was raining that previous day!)

Good thing we had Manong Leonard’s no. as our contact for the van and a tour guide in one. We set the day for the tour on May 31, 2008. We only spent the car rent for Php 2,500 for the whole trip (arrival and departure). But we had a discount!!! Yahoo! The only surprising thing that happened a day before we went to Bohol, my other team mates backed out! Glad to know that another girl friend of mine also wanted to join! There were 4 of us on tour, my girl friend’s boyfriend catch up to our cottage accommodation late in the afternoon.

And what would be our itinerary then? Everywhere our driver-tour guide will lead us to! He was so kind and very loquacious in his native tongue which got us quite entertained in the Toyota Corolla car we rented. I would enumerate the place we’ve been too. So you might have an idea if you wish to visit Bohol. Read below:

David Cook’s rendition of many hits most especially Mariah Carey’s “Always Be My Baby” made him be loved by many Filipinos. In fact, few days after performing that particular song over the seventh season of American Idol, it made it’s way to the top spots of Philippine music charts.  With his great popularity in the Philippines, if he’s gonna do a concert here, for sure it will be another event that everybody shouldn’t miss.

Coffee Bean’s latest tea infusion out now!

July 28, 2008

It’s not like any other tea I’ve tasted before. It seemed sweet because of the aroma but it tastes just right sans sugar. I still can’t explain the sensation. As I said, please do grab an order and tell me your own experience. I can assure you it will be so worth the trip to CBTL. To satisfy consumers’ varied preferences, the African Sunrise is availabe in three variants: brewed (or steeped), iced, and latte.

Man-Made Climate Change: The Company Advertising Cliches

July 28, 2008

I came across a certain fund enterprise and an inert interest suddenly doused my unconscious mind. False and misleading claims are being used in the advertisements of some companies to promote their products. This enterprising investment firm invited the attention of the U.S. Security and Exchange Commission (SEC) to warn such companies for the sake of would-be investors which maybe lured to invest in a company with the pretext that it adhered to man-made global warming concoction. SONA form and content

July 28, 2008

The Malacanang occupant has been bitten by the pink bug of Bayani Fernando, Metro Manila’s czar who has painted the metropolis with pink colors for his beautification drive.

Short on good things to say on her State-of-the-Nation Address (SONA) today, GMA would highlight the event instead by what she would be wearing for the joint opening of Congress.

The SONA has long been a fashion show for the rich, the famous and the mighty. But this time it would be more than just a cat walk on the corridors of power. The pink gown of the Palace resident would appear to be the main feature of the SONA. Philippine media is abuzz with it noticeably turning broadsheets into fashion mags.

It’s Been A Year Since My Brother Passed Away

July 27, 2008

July 24, 2008 marked the day when my brother, Nichi, celebrated his first year in heaven.

He lost his 6-year battle with leukemia but he won himself a special spot in heaven.

I wish to thank Pinoyblogosphere and every one who sent their prayers and support when we needed help so badly last year and I think even the year before that, when Nichi’s fight was at its toughest. Nichi didn’t get that bone marrow transplant he needed but the little money I was able to raise made a lot of kids like Nichi happy last Christmas.

To end, I am posting my dad’s thank-you letter for everyone who’d been there for:

Our dear friends,

This Thursday, July 24, will be a year since our Nichi left us to join the angels in heaven. You all have been part of his life and our family’s life. Allow us to thank you again for all the things you have done for Nichi and for being there when we felt we were alone.

May the God Almighty Bless you and your family and keep you all in good
health.

Always,

willie, tess, windale, warren, tyrene, jowin, migs & yzee

Squash soup

July 27, 2008

If you ask me, I would definitely say that pumpkin and squash are the same thing except pumpkin is more associated to Halloween (easier to say probably). But I did a bit of internet research and discovered that although they are of the same family, they are in fact two distinct types of vegetables. The main difference being the color and the stem. The pumpkin has a darker orange colored skin (suitable for Halloween) and a thicker, sturdier stem (better handling for trick or treaters). The squash would have more variety in terms of color, stem, skin, etc. What is commonly sold in local grocery stores would be considered a squash of the winter squash variety. I think they also taste different but don’t take my word for it as my only exposure has been to the local vegetable.

I’m the New Proud Image Model of Mang Eddie’s Vulcanizing Shop Courtesy of Team Manila Shirts

July 27, 2008

If you are a Filipino and you haven’t heard of Team Manila shirts, you are missing out on a lot. I have been proudly rocking a Team Manila shirt for three years now since my first purchase at their store in Rockwell Makati. I own 12 shirts now and the number of my collection just keeps growing and it’s fast becoming an addiction. What makes Team Manila shirts uniquely Pinoy is their stylish cool designs, from our national icon – Jose Rizal rocking a Ray Ban sunglasses to silhouettes of our own folk dancers aptly titled United Tinikling Collective.

Who/What is Team Manila?

Team Manila is a graphic design studio based in the Philippines with an extensive portfolio of brilliant works in the field of broadcast and print design. While Team Manila is more popularly known for their Graphic Designed Lifestyle t-shirts, the range of their services isn’t only limited to apparel. In fact, they even worked with big names like Nike…. continue reading this post at Pinoy Raket Online

Five reasons why you need an accounting software

July 27, 2008

There are probably hundreds of accounting software available in the market today, with majority downloadable from the internet either for a fee or for free.

They vary in terms of features and functions, not to mention price. In general, however, most accounting software have common features that bring great benefits to a business, especially small ones.

Covers Carnival #1: Batman

July 27, 2008

Because nobody demanded it, a new blog series! In this new series, I shall cover (hyuk! hyuk!) awesome comic book covers just because. This is exactly the same kind of dickery I pulled in Face Rockery with the blog series Face-Rocking Covers. So yeah, this is basically me making fun of comic book covers. High five?

For this inaugural Cover Carnival entry, we’ll be looking at a few covers of Batman. Unless you were living under a stupid rock (I mean, who does that? Really.) for the last year, you’ll understand why I find Batman covers to be appropriate for this initial offering. The Dark Knight spelunked (New word!) into theaters last week and Batman is understandably in everybody’s consciousness right now. This is how I’m celebrating this most awesome of awesome movies.

The Bat-Signal. ON THE MOON. And it’s daylight where the signal is coming from. Think about that for a moment, will you?

Dressing up for work

July 26, 2008

Although I work at Makati CBD, the type of work I do does not require me to face clients often. If I have to be honest, I mostly spend my days (and nights) typing away at my laptop to connect to different people in different places around the world. I can say that about 75% of my colleagues do not even wear makeup (huwaaat?! - yea my mom has the same reaction). This means, I can be as lousy and as unkempt as I could be (not that I want to) and my laptop will not crash on me.
