Funny pinoy stuff
Sense of humor is important on a day to day basis. It’s been said of the Pinoys that we are pretty ingenuous when it comes to making light of things, not because we are escapists, but maybe because we are a “happy” people … as ordinary people we don’t resort to guns to solve our problems. We tend to see the lighter side of things. One display of a Pinoy’s sense of humor is in the play of words. Common words and familiar trademarks and expressions are re-invented to make it truly Pinoy sounding. Read more about this in the blog I wrote entitled, Time for some funny stuff …

The Thing About Age
There was a time when I was “requested” to buy some cigaretts, even of my outright and my obvious attempt making her know that I gate this habit of hers.
It is a well known mandatory to present your ID for your age. As she ounched it in age asked if I would like to have a match, but I said I don’t smoke
As the transaction ended I was very coy and playful and asked the person in the register if I look like sixteen. I think she was somewhat hesitent to answer so I somewhat did it for her. (More From The Thing About Age)
Chanel Fall 2008
Chanel’s pret-a-porter (ready-to-wear) collection for this fall (‘08) and winter wants to target a new crowd and a couple of men as well.
While I applaud most of Karl Lagerfeld’s ideas and creations, I can’t seem to get my thoughts out of some of the designs.
There were the classic Chanel tweed coats with tattered slits on the elbow part and some on the skirts too.
Somewhat I remembered my post for jeans that sold for like $40 with tattered slits on the knees. Its like that, but the dress sells for about a thousand dollars. (More From Chanel Fall 2008)

We Want you to be Happily Married … to your Jobs!
Much have been said about Bobby Fischer’s talent and genius as a chess master.
However, talent alone is not enough. I think what needs to be highlighted is not the prodigious talent of Bobby but the story that he focused and worked 15 to 16 hours a day doing nothing but chess.
As his nemesis, Boris Spassky said, ‘ Chess is like Life‘. But Bobby Fischer said, “ Chess is Life“.
Maybe that singular focus was instrumental in his success in chess, in his chosen endeavor and craft. But that same paranoia served him not well as he was generally regarded not a success in life.
Success has a price, and it is important that you know the price you are paying for.
I quote another person which can be something to think about, ” Came, Saw, Conquered, had second thoughts.“
