P6.93M Contingency Fund and an Underequipped PNP
he Philippine National Police delegates to Russia were provided by the Philippine government 6.93 million pesos as contingency fund. A fund, just in case, will be used for emergency purposes in Russia. That’s it, 6.93 Million Pesos as emergency fund for some PNP generals.
Possibly for a purchase of tons of caviar and thousands of liters of vodka.
As we all know, there are about 20% of the PNP personnel who have no guns. The SWAT patrol car of Calamba City PNP looks more like a push cart to me than a Toyota FX. A police outpost in Cabuyao is more like a ‘tambayan’ than an outpost.

A few questions you might want to read if you have an answer
- Why did Kamikaze pilots wear helmets?
- Why do they sterilized needles that are used for injecting the death penalty?
- Why don’t they make a cat food that tastes like mice?
- They say tefton doesn’t stick to anything. How does it stick to the frying pan?
- Why do stores that are open 24/7 have locks on the doors?
- Why are cars and other vehicles not made of the black-box material that is found on a plane? continue reading
WordPress Buys Polldaddy
Atomattic did it again. A few months ago they acquired IntenseDebate, today they purchased Polldaddy. Polldaddy is one of the top two third-party poll services being used by sites and blogs, the other one, a stiff competitor is Vizu.
Multiply to Receive MSN Groups
Charlotte Jones, Group Product Manager for Microsoft’s MSN Groups, recently posted that MSN Groups will be shutting down early next year. This is in-line with the brand aligning of Microsoft as they prepare to launch Windows Live Groups. However, MSN Groups will not be migrated to WLG, but rather to Multiply – the 8th Largest Social Network.

We are requesting for prayers and support
In two weeks, Warren and I will be moving to a depressed locality in the province for the sole purpose of reaching out to impoverished families who are hungry not only for basic food and commodities but more than anything else, for spiritual nourishment.
We were there again yesterday to speak with the caretaker of the property we will be renting and we were given another opportunity to see another part of the area. The “subdivision” is a government-funded housing locality which was loaned out to government employees. In turn, these government employees (public school teachers, DPWH managers, DSWD staff, etc) rented out their units to individuals who can barely afford decent housing outside the said locality. Houses here come cheap, a two-bedroom house can be rented for a measly P2,500.00 and this is because most of these units are actually already foreclosed but the GSIS have yet to act on the foreclosure.

Poverty
Poverty.
When I speak the word “poverty”, I imagine barefooted, naked, dirt-stricken and malnourished children running around, makeshift homes with thatched roofing or with only a piece of tarpaulin serving as its walls, women huddled in one corner gossiping and men who are naked from the waist up, with cigarettes hanging from their darkened lips while their hands held either a glass of gin or game cards. But then, I also imagine a Barong Tagalog-clad politician, waving his hands displaying his well-manicured fingers while his fashionably dressed and bejewelled wife clung to his other arm.

After dinner we do a lot of talkings from setting up a blog (because he want to have a blog) to Busby Seo Test competition. From there we move on to another topic.
Bakit Mabagal Maglakad ang Pinoy?
Hindi ka ba nagtataka? Ang bagal-bagal maglakad ng karamihan sa atin.
Nakakainis. Well, minsan nakakainis talaga. Tuwing naglalakad ako sa kahabaan ng Ayala, hindi ako maka-ungos o maka-overtake man lang dahil sa kabagalan sa paglalakad ng ilan o sabihn na nating ka ramihan sa ating mga kababayan.

Poverty in the Philippines
I am not rich. But I dare not call myself poor. This I say in respect for all those who live day by day, without a steady job or none at all, those who do not have access to basic necessities such as food or medicine. I am not poor. I may not have a large amount of cash in my wallet, but having a wallet is a blessing in itself.
