Iraqi Shoe Thrower Hogs the Headlines

Somebody should congratulate US President George W. Bush for his quick reflexes in ducking two shoes hurled at him during a press conference in Iraq.

The assailant, an Iraqi TV reporter named Muntadhar al-Zeidi, tried to hit Bush with his shoes, but missed on both occassions. Nobody was quite sure what triggered al-Zeidi (not to be confused with al-Qaeda), but reports said that disdain over the US occupation of Iraq prompted the journalist to fire the leather missiles.

Cheap Ways to Call and Text Abroad Via Your Mobile


My cousin’s recent Globe Telecom roaming bill reached P11,147.80. You read it right, ELEVEN THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED FORTY SEVEN AND EIGHTY CENTAVOS! Almost the same price of the much hyped LG Cookie phone.

Her G-Plan is only G-Text 500 with a monthly credit limit of P5,000. Instead of bearing the costs of international calls and texts by calling my cousin’s Verizon mobile, her moron and leech boyfriend kept on calling her roaming Globe SIM despite the fact that my cousin will be charged P60+ per minute for all incoming international calls. Why waste $0.40 per minute with Verizon when you can call her for only P6.50 per minute or P0.10 per second? Wise guy huh?

Simbang Gabi And My Back Pain

Anyway, here in Singapore, the Filipino Christmas tradition of Simbang Gabi (Misa de Gallo) started tonight at Church of Saint Anthony of Padua in Woodlands. I was supposed to attend the Simbang Gabi with my room mate but I was in so much pain that I have to skip it.
