The display of little colorful flag-lets that hang over the major streets of Cebu City, gives a distinction that the city is celebrating the Feast of the Patron Saint of Cebu, the Blessed Sto. Niño (Christ Child). Actually, in my own personal understanding, the Burnt Holy Child of Jesus could not be considered as saint because Jesus Christ is of Godly nature. IT ethics during recession
with yesterday’s news of Accenture Manila laying off around 500 IT PINOYs, plus getting more infos of how it was done, I did some research on what effects there is to people when there is a recession (or rumors of it) – the results are intriguing and sad.
Cyber-Ark, a security firm interviewed 600 workers from the USA, UK and Netherlands called “The Global Recession and its Effect on Work Ethics.”

2009 Sinulog Fluvial Parade
One thing is certain no matter how bad the weather is here in Cebu – strong 
winds – the 2009 Fluvial parade is pushing thru. In fact, Small seacraft is allowed to join the annual Sto. Niño fluvial procession down the Mactan Channel but overloading will be strictly prohibited – for strict compliance.

Google Layoffs 100
the last quarter of 08 was a bombardment of IT layoffs in the Philippines. @ the start of 09 there had news that microsoft itself will lay off 15000 of its workforce worldwide. here comes another sad news – google has announced layoffs of around 100 people – most of them from HR.
in the local scene, we just got a news today that Accenture Manila released around 500 of it’s people today Jan15!
