Government out to fool the public with a so-called stimulus package
It has been almost two months since the last time I wrote for my blog. The Christmas and New Year celebrations, and the extended holiday period thereafter, seemed to have held me and I have not found the time to write in these past few weeks.
Now there is all this talk about a government stimulus package. Remember folks that even in the early months of the financial crisis during October and Novermber last year, the Palace-dominated House of Representatives has already been deliberating the budget for the fiscal year 2009. The President’s allies railroaded the process without even putting into account the core issue of the crisis which is about to hit the country this year. Malacanang and Congress were so confident that the country would not be hit hard despite the rest of the world were already moving to a direction in preparation for a tumultous 2009.
It is amazing, therefore, that our leaders are jumping into the stimulus bandwagon virtually telling the public they had it all figured out. Conservative senators were even apalled when the President declared to the public they had a multibillion peso stimulus package in store when in fact no one mentioned about this in the halls of Congress when the budget was being debated.
Slumdog Millionaire’s Genius
You don’t have to be a genius to know the answer, Jamal says. That certainly sparked a flame of insight into his life. He was nowhere near to being a genius, let alone someone who knew all the answers to life’s toughest questions. Maybe even the simplest ones. But towards the end of the film, the point becomes clear as pristine water: indeed, you do not have to be a genius to know the answer; you just have to experience things in their candid and brutal forms to have something to say in the face of life’s most troubling questions. While the story reflects answers to some questions, questions to some answers, and even more questions to questions that not even Einstein would have managed to resolve, it turns out that the movie hid more under its sleeves. It was not only the story of innocence and ignorance of two boys and a girl living in the slum recesses of India. Neither was it simply the story of how a chaiwalla seized the final answer with a guess and seized twenty million Rupees even more. It was itself a story of India. Maybe even ours.

Big Sites Start Small
i started IT PINOY! around four months ago all for the purpose of sharing my passion in IT (and of course get a chance to earn some money as well). and for three months now i’ve seriously considered (and pushed back) buying my own domain.
thoughts like, what if work gets in the way and i couldn’t find time anymore to sustain this blog? it’s a shame to see lots of websites that hasn’t been updated – really! or what if this blogging thing didn’t click as i hoped it would be? what if i didn’t know what to write anymore????

May The Best Man Win.

I love that a tennis match, when played by two great players, really becomes more than a game, more than a sport – the word “epic” really comes to mind. Oh, the drama of an intense tennis match! It probably has a lot to do with tennis being a one-man sport (sometimes two, but we all know singles tennis trumps doubles most of the time). Imagine being at center court in a grand slam final – yes, there are thousands of people watching you, but you are unable to speak to anyone, not even to your coach, who at best can only throw you knowing glances of motivation. The crowd can cheer for you, but they are fickle – they will cheer for the other guy too, and will applaud every amazing shot, every break point saved, every point won. Ultimately, you are alone with your thoughts and your nerves, with nothing but a racquet in your hand. What could be the most defining moment of your career, and you are alone – and that is probably the greatest challenge of tennis, that the journey to victory is one you take all by yourself, a lonely, lonely road.
