Pangalawang Bato

Commuting around Hong Kong

One thing I immediately loved about Hong Kong is the public transport system, which puts the Philippines to shame. We’ve never seen the need for a car in this city, and we rarely take taxis since everything is accessible by commute. Read more here about getting around the city.

different classes of gay

Details magazine made a feature about the different classes of gay in their December 2008 issue. It addresses the ‘already growing trend’ of homosexuals who doesn’t fit in the limp wrist, hip swaying, high pitched voice, and comic kind and brand of gay.
The article was received  with half hate and half love. People love the article because of deeper involvement in gay culture and the breaking to stereotypes. People who hated it said that it is “Vacuous. Snobbish. Offensively reductive. Overall, the perfectly representative Details piece.”
A number of people noted that such distinctiveness between gay people are already there and don’t need to be pointed out by Captain Obvious. Since the US is very ‘out there,’ in a sense that your sexuality is nothing more but a preference, then this kind of publication is well suited for The Onion.
Recently by the completion of this post. Pres. Obama declared June 2009 as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Month.
There’s nothing much to say anymore is there?

A little place in Hong Kong you might not know

There’s a little island just a boat ride away from Hong Kong that can chase the city blues away. It’s also the home of the “mini great wall” and a festival of siopao. CLICK HERE to learn more about Cheung Chau.
