C2 Classic Cuisine

When eating out, my philosophy (for lack of a better term) is always to go to a place where I will not find dishes that I can easily cook or make at home. Strike any ordinary Filipino or Chinese restaurant. And this is why I frequent mostly Italian, Japanese or American restaurants.

But I found Classic Cuisine, C2 (get it? C2?), entirely different than what I was expecting from a usual Filipino restaurant. The offerings were the same as any other place, there was sinigang, kare kare, tilapia, crispy pata and of course the ever present adobo which carries their signature in its name. Choosing to veer away from the usual, we ordered the Crispy Ribs Sinigang (Beef) and Sisig Rice. My friend added some calamari in some sweet sauce since she was really a picky eater and might not like the sinigang.

Facebook game Brain Buddies landed in the Philippines

I would like to share to all Filipinos that there is a new game on facebook which is now becoming globally popular.

The game is called Brain Buddies. It is a brain training game developed by Berlin-based start-up wooga which was simultaneously launched in 8 languages including Filipino language on July 1st 2009.

Within the first week of being online, Brain Buddies reached 1.5 million minutes of play time, or 25,000 hours.

Brain Buddies offers its users a playful way to determine their brain weight. The game is focusing on a contest among friends to find the one with the heaviest brain.

A large set of mini games as well as entertaining graphics make the game fun to play for a long time.

Filipinos who are using facebook in English simply needs to change their language setting to Filipino in order to play the game in local language.

Check it out . Try the game on the link http://apps.facebook.com/brainbuddies.

Britney Spears is back with a New Song

My favorite pop star Britney Spears is now back with her latest single from her Circus Album.

Her 2008 album Circus has already released the hit singles Womanizer, Circus, and the controversial If U Seek Amy which received a lot of criticisms for some of its lines considered “malicious” by critics. Radar, which is written as BONUS Track to the Circus album is the fourth single from Spear’s Circus album and now, officially has a music video! Yehheeey!!

Honestly, I’m happy with the release of this Britney Spears Radar Music Video because this just proves that Britney is STILL dedicated to her singing career. Today, she may not be as good as the Britney that she was before, at least her presence is still felt worldwide.

So, if you want to watch the Radar Music video and the Radar lyrics by Britney Spears, you can watch by clicking Britney Spears Radar Music Video.

Thanks.

Filipina on Flip Flops in Siem Reap, Cambodia (Day 1)

From Filipina on Flip Flops: Travel Tales and the City Life of a Filipina

There it was, the temple complex of Angkor Wat, its “beehive” towers standing ever so proudly yet solemnly in the middle of the forest of Siem Reap, as it has done so for centuries. Other than how immense it was, I was taken by its location, hidden deep in the woods, forgotten and untouched, its existence unknown to the outside world for years and years. I wondered what it must’ve felt like for the French explorer who re-discovered Angkor in the 1800s, to have found all that grandeur and to have undoubtedly been flabbergasted by the staggering thought that a place as massive and as beautiful as that could’ve been forgotten almost entirely by civilization. And while Angkor Wat and the rest of Cambodia’s temples are now renowned all over the world and are visited by crowds of tourists each year, on that quiet, wet and gloomy Sunday morning, standing on the bridge towards its entrance, I couldn’t help but feel incredibly fortunate to have been part of, and to have seen for myself, the “hidden” magnificence that is Angkor Wat.
