Cosplay: Handmade VS Commissioned Costumes

Cosplay is the hobby of dressing up and acting out as your favorite anime, game, comic book, or movie character. Personally, I think either is fine, depending on the person. Obviously, it is not okay to get a commissioned costume and claim it was your work, or accept craftsmanship awards, but I don’t see the problem. I like to do a little of both. Buy what I can, make what I can, and keep a low budget while still looking good.
