Jona, a proud Ilocana, married someone surnamed Mallari. It is a very known fact that most Mallaris hail from Pampanga. Everytime she encounters this question, “Ay! Mallari?! Saan ka sa Pampanga!?” She would answer, “Hindi po ako taga-Pampanga! Asawa ko po ‘yun! Asawa ko,” with a tone of indifference. “Ma!” Ronald would tell her after, “Wag ganun! Ibig sabihin lang nun taga-Pampanga din sila. Parang nadidiri ka eh.” ...
