The upcoming mixed martial arts event to be held by the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will be aired LIVE Online on October 24, 2009. The UFC 104: Machida vs. Shogun fight will take place in Los Angeles, California. Mauricio “Shogun” Rua will fight for the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship title of Lyoto Machida in the main event.

Lyoto Machida is the current UFC Light Heavyweight Champion after he knocked out Rashad Evans in the 2nd round of their UFC 98 match last May 2009. He has a perfect 15-0 record and a force to be reckoned with in the UFC 104 main event. The challenger, Mauricio Rua, however has won his last 2 fights in UFC via knockout. He has a professional record of 18-3.
