Nearer 50 than 40, and having a ball

Everyone said you start feeling old after your 20s but I felt nothing like that when I turned 30. I was enjoying raising two young girls and having a ball. Everyone said that at the onset of midlife, you start asking yourself what you have done with your life and really start feeling old. Not me. When I turned 40, I didn’t feel old. Today, I turn 46 and that’s nearer 50 than 40. Well into my midlife. My firstborn is in college; my younger girl in her last year in high school. Am I old?...

The Glorietta 5 Robbery Shootout: Hoodlums In Uniform

Everyone’s talking about yesterday’s ala-Wild Wild West shootout at the plush Greenbelt 5 shopping mall (coming on the eve of that deadly gas explosion that killed 11 people and hurt over 100 others at Glorietta 2). We can almost shout ourselves hoarse about the seeming lapse in the mall security and why silent electronic alarms were not available at the targeted Rolex watch shop. But that’s all with the benefit of 20/20 hindsight. What’s  frightening is how yet again the malefactors...

I am pleased to share the  Buena Mano Q3-2009 Green Tag Greater Metro Manila Area (GMMA) catalogues of bank acquired assets for sale. Actually I got a copy of the Green Tag catalogues a few weeks ago but as you already know by now, our house got totally submerged during Typhoon Ondoy’s visit and it ruined just about everything inside it including the Buena Mano Q3-2009 Green Tag listing. I was finally able to get another copy from the BPI branch in the Atrium when I visited Pag-IBIG to avail...

The husband of Sen. Jamby Madrigal has contracted leptospirosis upon making contact with his wife’s urine, according to sources.

Eric Jean Claude Dudoignon Valade is recovering at the Makati Medical Condition where he has been confined since last week suffering from a severe case of leptospirosis, an illness usually acquired through contact with bacteria-infested animal urine….
