Ares I-X’s delay due to Triboelectrification

NASA Ares I-X's scheduled launch at 8AM today is delayed due to winds and triboelectrification. Triboelectrification is a "static electric charge that can build up on flying vehicles, aircraft as well as spacecraft, as they move through particles in the atmosphere."Col. Patrick Barrett of the 45th Weather Squadron said that there is no specific time that the triboelectrification rule is expected ...
