Spellbound

In the stillness of the night,
I felt my heart beating fast.
heard the thumping in my head,
suffocating, drowning me.
Devoid of all my senses,
removed of all my reasons,
transfixed in that one moment,
mystified by your nearness.
In the darkness of the room,
I saw your delicate face,
the curving of your body,
felt you breathing beside me.
As the space faded away
I felt your hand touching mine,
Your strong-arm embracing me.
I was ready to be swayed
by this magical feeling;
to enter a dazzling dream.
