Close encounters of the ghostly kind

HUMMING IN MY UNIVERSE By Jim Paredes (The Philippine Star) Updated November 01, 2009 12:00 AM I was just six years old that rainy night in 1957. It was just a few weeks after my father had died in a plane crash. Torrents of rain were pounding on the roof of our house. It must have been about 2:30 a.m. when I was awakened by my younger brother Raffy’s crying. He was bawling his eyes out, afraid of the thunder and lightning that seemed so close to the window in our room. I lay on my bed curled up...
