President Obama signs Hate Crimes Prevention Act

This past week, Brian from the AAPI Momentum team attended President Barack Obama's signing of legislation that included the landmark Hate Crimes Prevention Act, which expands hate crime protections to outlaw attacks based on sexual orientation and gender. At a ceremony in the East Room of the White House, President Obama stood at the podium with family members of Matthew Shepard and James Byrd, Jr., who were victims of violent hate crimes in 1998.
