In the olden days, the Luneta was called the Bagumbayan, an execution field during the Spanish regime, where Filipinos suspected as rebels were executed. The grassy fields were literally soaked with heroes' blood, including Jose Rizal's, whose monument stands now at the very center of the Luneta.But...
