Idleness: The State of Doing Nothing

Idleness. In American culture, being idle is looked down as being lazy. There is no losing time for them. In some cultures, idleness is a time for relaxation, reflection and meditation; a time for spiritual growth, hence the tea ceremony of the Japanese, yoga of the Indians and siesta of the Spanish. In Filipino though, this easily translates to “Tambay”.
