Looking Back: “The Year That Was…”
Looking Back: “The Year That Was…”
(by Marcing Pin)
Happy New Year to all of you readers… as we look forward to the next 12 months, lets review that Year 2009 anno domini or should I say, the 9th year of the 21st century of the years of our Lord.
Obama: First Year
2009 marks the first year of the Barack Obama presidency.
Obama started the year full of praise and adulation not just from his own people but people from around the world. After becoming the first ever African-American to be elected president of the most powerful country in the world. He even emulate the march to the White House that of the man who help freed his people from slavery, the late President Abraham Lincoln… he began the year with his liberal policies to please the Democrats and then lately with a sort of conservative-leaning policies to please the Republicans… he ended the year simply hated by both Republican and Democrat elites simply because of his pro-people policies… a lot of people would say he has done nothing… some actually regretted of criticizing George W. Bush… the conservatives accuse him as socialist, a Marxist, a fascist, a Nazi while at the same time the liberal elites are over-hyping his every move…. at the end of the day, the only bad things he did were for undeservingly winning the Nobel Peace Prize and his pro-gay policies that pretty much open the door to an immoral liberal society that slowly turning American society into…
Cory Aquino: Icon of Democracy
In August 2009, former Philippine President Ma. Corazon Cojuangco Aquino or simply Cory Aquino died of colon cancer. She was the first president of the Fifth Republic of the Philippines (People Power Republic) and although, she wasn’t exactly present at the height of Philippine People Power Revolution of 1986 but she was the very symbol of the first CNN-broadcasted democratic uprising in the world. The bloodless revolt went on to inspire other democratic revolts that spontaneously ended the Cold War…
The Unholy Alliance of Lakas-Kampi
The year also marks the unholy merger of the Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD) and Kabalikat ng Malayang Pilipino (KAMPI). Both are post-Martial Law political parties, Lakas was founded by Raul Manglapus, Jose De Venecia Jr., and Fidel V. Ramos while Kampi was founded by Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and her allies. Lakas started as the leading advocate of people empowerment, economic reforms, and later charter change until it flirted with the old political dynasties of the pre-Martial Law era and the pro-Marcos politicians. It’s crowning achievement was the economic reform-oriented presidency of Fidel Ramos. Kampi, however, started as the junior partner of the Lakas political machinery in 1998 and the crowning achievements of the informal partnership of Lakas-Kampi was the election of Arroyo to vice presidency in 1998, her fraud election to the presidency in 2004, and of course, the elite-motivated EDSA Dos in 2001…
The Ondoy-Pepeng Super Typhoons Disasters
The year also marks once of the worst calamities to ever to happened in the Philippine Islands. It also proven the lies of President Gloria Arroyo’s 2009 SONA speech about the country’s preparedness to natural calamities.
Super-typhoon Ondoy (international code name: Ketsana) was underestimated and the disaster that followed revealed bureaucratic irregularities in Manila concerning the capital region’s sewerages and the undisciplined human nature of throwing garbage everywhere. Super-typhoon Pepeng (international code name: Parma) inflicted similar damages to northern Philippines (remained stationary for a week) and may have done more damage if the region have the same number of population as Metro Manila….
Climate Change, Climate Gate and the Copenhagen Summit
2009 also marks the year that the mythical phenomenon of “Climate Change” and “Global Warming” becomes universally accepted as international norms after months and years of manipulation by insane scientists, liberal atheistic elites, liberal media, ignorant politicians (e.g. un-elected British Prime Minister Gordon Brown and U.S. Presidential Loser Al Gore), and tree-hugging anarchists.
Just recently, an e-mail was discovered from Britain concerning fraudulent manipulation of temperature records by scientists. The Climate Gate Scandal is now under investigation with obvious conclusion of persecution of those who hacked the e-mail and not the true criminals who manipulated the records to delusionize people about climate change. The United Nations (UN) is also planning to investigate with obvious goal to protect their advocacy of the mythical phenomenon….
Iranian Election Protest
The year was also marks with the Iranian election protest, also known as the “Twitter” Revolution. The Green Revolution. Just like other modern-day revolution, such as Filipinos using radios in 1986 and mobile phones in 2001, the Iranians used “Twitter” to spread their protests and condemnation of the fraud election. It sparks support from Iranians not only throughout Iran but also from Iranian overseas communities and non-Iranians around the world. The protest resulted with deaths of Iranians, including young Neda, in the streets who are fighting for their democracy, the press were shut and internet websites were blocked while the United Nations was as uselessly ineffective as ever was. Neda’s death was seen around the world and she becomes the symbol of the revolution that yet to succeed over authoritarianism in one of the oldest countries in the world….
