New program seen to boost truck body sales in the country

Recognizing that product knowledge coupled with effective sales techniques is key to consummating a sale, there is now a drive to train truck body salesmen in various automotive dealerships nationwide along this line. The training focuses on product quality, personal integrity and honesty.

Dubbed as the Centro Ko Ang Customer Ko program, this was introduced by truck body maker Centro Manufacturing Corporation to the various truck dealers across the archipelago to uplift the skills level of automotive salespeople in the country. Centro is the first and so far, the only ISO-certified truck body builder in the country.

In this training program, salesmen are taught to look at long-term business relationships with customers and not just going for the quick buck by pushing the low-quality products. There is therefore the need for salesmen to supply the customers with the best quality products that would satisfy their requirements. This approach is expected to establish customer loyalty and rapport.

But first, a salesman must be taught what to look for in a quality product and how to transform this quality into a competitive advantage. His skills are then honed in the latest selling techniques, including comprehensive product knowledge, customizing products to the extent the body manufacturer can handle, addition of retrofit kits to enhance functionality and handling of warranty claims and complaints.

Centro President Raphael Juan says that they believe that “if a salesperson is more knowledgeable about the auto industry in general and automotive products in particular, it will be easier for him to sell his company’s products and services. In this case, the sales personnel is introduced to various customized truck bodies and retrofit components available and which they were not aware are being either locally assembled or distributed by Centro. Among these products are the garbage compactors, tailgate lifts, various sizes of hoists and cranes, dump truck bodies, man lifters, refrigerated vans, catering vans and the like.”

“The auto sector is poised to once again be a major job generator as the illegal importation of used vehicles has been addressed and more car companies are entering the industry. This salesmen training program is Centro’s modest contribution to the improvement and development of the automotive industry”, he adds.

Centro has made available to any truck dealership a team of Centro sales, marketing and technical staff to go around the various automotive dealerships in Metro Manila and the provinces to conduct this seminar. To avail of this free training, please call Centro Sales at 9300971.
