ABS-CBN’s Showtime back on air

After being suspended by the MTRCB last January 12, ABS-CBN’s morning show “Showtime” is back starting today, January 19, 2010.

That is after the Court of Appeals has issued the Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) dated last Friday, January 15, 2010, lifting the 20-day preventive suspension given by the MTRCB to “Showtime”.

The show’s hosts Vhong Navarro, Anne Curtis and Kim Atienza happily announced this good news to the televiewers yesterday on “Magpasikat”, which temporarily replaced “Showtime”.

Here’s a portion of the resolution made by the Court of Appeals:

“For reasons afore-stated, and as prayed for by petitioner, let a TEMPORARY RESTRAINING ORDER be issued, as it is hereby issued, effective sixty (60) days from notice hereof, enjoining respondent MTRCB, including any and all persons acting in their behalf and under their command and authority, from continuing to enforce the Preventive Suspension Order dated January 11, 2010 issued against petitioner, pending the resolution of the instant petition.”
