Babae ang nagturo sa aming bayan
kung paano bumasa.
Buong yabang ko itong iniliham
kay Chaya, isang kaibigang nananahan
sa isang kubling bayan sa Gitnang Silangan
kung saan ipinagbabawal ang pagbasa
sa kababaihan.
Aniya’y malaking kabalintunaan
sa kapal ng telang...
