20070516 downtime explained and new RO promo for gamers » Ragnarok Days
a massive downtime woke up the pRO community today as early as 5am… gamers who are online suddenly get disconnected, and those who are trying to get into the game suddenly sees “no load†notices in the game client… according to a Y!M with Carlo Ople, pRO Brand Manager, the problem was with their billing server which was being provided by a 3rd party…
after the elections, what now?? » in retrospect…
now that the election fever is over, all stupid election commercials done away with, and all promises will remain just that, promises, where to now, Pinoy?? do we have a party for our winners?? do we bring out all our best suits and dresses and hold a ball?? or do we clean up after them, tearing down and scraping all their campaign posters posted all over?? and will something better happen now?? can we expect changes in our government now that we have put into position all of those we thought capable??
unless something astounding and freakish happens to our senators and congressmen and mayors, the same things will happen over and over again… and by the same things, i mean:
top 10 most influential emerging filipino blogs for 2007 » in retrospect… — UPDATED!!
Janette Toral posted last May 12 that her next project was “identifying identifying new and emerging blogs that are making an impact to its readers in 2007…†the only condition being that the blogs you nominate to your top 10 are those that started from 1st August 2006… so, short of asking the blogger when exactly he or she has started, the best way to find out when this blog started is to look at the archive and look at the date the 1st post was made… in the absence of the archives, you can look at the very 1st post and look at the date the post was made… also, that it must be a Pinoy blog… and so, on to my Top 10 Most Influential Emerging Pinoy Blogs of 2007:
tomorrow’s elections and changes needed for the next » in retrospect…
tomorrow, we will all again troop to voting precincts to cast our votes on whom among the senatorial hopefuls will have the right to steal from us for the next 6 years, and whom among the local candidates can bully us for the next 3 years… we have learned so much from the just concluded campaign period, and i believe the most relevant question now should be:
will we allow the next elections to be the same??

i wasn’t able to properly update this blog. for several reasons.. first, the terms ragnarok, RO, and everything pertaining to some game or another were being blocked by the office firewall, therefore, i can’t access this from there… when i get home in the afternoon from work [office time is from 6am to 3pm], i am so dead tired and sleepy, that was why i can’t even attend sieges during weekdays since i need to go to sleep early… and lastly, i have had no good materials lately that i can write on…
i hope to rectify all of that with this post… so just bear with me, ok?
Interestings Friday #1 » in retrospect…
nope, not a typo…
starting today, 11th May 2007, a Friday, and every Friday thereafter, i will be creating Interestings Friday [IF] which chronicles all interesting posts from the week past… this means that i will be reading up on a lot of blogs, and i’ll be deep-linking one post per blog per week [that would mean a lot of reading!!]…
is nationalism still alive in the Philippines?? » in retrospect…
an officemate and i got to talking about driving conditions in the metro and outlying areas while waiting for the next meeting to commence… it all started when he asked me the top 3 drivers/vehicles among our public transport system are worse… to answer his question, my choices were:
number 3: buses, because of their volume along EDSA;
number 2: taxis, because they don’t care whether they get hit or not;
and,
number 1: jeepneys, because they still maintain that they are kings of the road, and must be feared…
elections becoming such a farce
it will be election time come May 14, and a lot of people will be trooping to polling centers to cast their votes, as well as a lot of candidates will be doing last minute vote buying campaigning and harassments …
and this election is the biggest farce ever!!
did i say farce?? sorry… no… not a farce… more to the point, it has become an absurdity, a broad comedy, caricature, a very big joke, a mockery of the Filipino people, a parody, a sham… in short, it has become a travesty…
if i were a senator… » by in retrospect…
let’s play a little game of “If I Were A Senator…†the object of the game is to list down all the things that you will do if you were elected to the Senate of the Philippines… since i started this game, let me go first:
the best company to work for by in retrospect…
what are your standards that make for the best company to work for? free food, breakfast, lunch, or dinner? hmmm, i know at least a few of those… easy atmosphere to work in? that may be harder to find than the free food… other things that make the life of a worker bee easier like a free haircut, a free laundry service, a free day care service, a free sports center, or a free massage, even??
know of a Philippine company who has all of these? no? ok, so maybe a company offering free lunch or a free breakfast, yeah, i know at least one of those… i also know one other company who has an easy atmosphere to work in… but the others?? naaahhh… i still have to find one here…
but imagine if you can have all of the above in one company!! wouldn’t working for that company be just so good??
