Random Hot Men: National Underwear Day
I rarely get to read Queerty and whenever I do, I get to see the good ones!

August 7 was National Underwear Day, and all the prominent underwear brands got together for one major fashion show at the Times Square.
More on the skivvies after the jump.
Commercial Break: God, Save the Baby

A little trivia: there are four babies born in the Philippines every minute.
This commercial shows a woman in labor and her newly-born baby doesn’t cry, a sign that the child could be still-born.
Could this doctor be able to save the baby from imminent child mortality?
Answers after the jump…
Promise.
Maruja Sunday Specials #6
Pick-Up

I swear, Svelte! Nangyari itets!
Random Hot Men: Kirk Long, Shirtless

Several weeks ago, I have shown Simon Atkins’ shirtless pics. And in the spirit of fair play and goodwill, your Empress also features Ateneo de Manila Blue Eagle’s Kirk Long in a more…shall we say…sporty perspective.
Remember to breathe deeply before the jump.
Music Break: “I Got U” by Chris Cayzer

I’d be so screwed with this.
I gave Chris Cayzer some flak over at Talamasca’s blog after hearing his horrendous rendition of Lisa Loeb’s “Stay (I Miss You)”. But hearing his single “I Got U” made me think, “Hmmm…maybe I should cut him some slack.”
Besides, my orgmate worked as the cinematographer on this music video. Video clip after the jump.
Random Hot Men: More UE Red Warrior Action
The UE Red Warriors are still undefeated near the closing of first round of UAAP Men’s Basketball Championship. And what better way to celebrate (albeit early) is to feature Ghieno Etrone in action!

On court…
Baklaan Alert! International Mr. Gay Competition

Remember when I featured Mr. Gay Philippines? The winner represents our kawntree in the biennial International Mr. Gay Competition, which will be held on January 2008 in Hollywood, California.
More gay hottiness as we meet some of the candidates (representing countries you won’t expect; last year they had a candidate from frickin’ Vatican City) after the jump.
Commercial Break: Who Says We’re Poor?

This series of commercials, in a way, gives light to our bleak and poor country.
How? Find out after the jump…

Promise!
01-18-08: What the?

Call it another round of promoting a movie by Internet hyping, but whoah…that movie looks like it’s got punch!
Watch the trailer, and what’s it all about, after the jump.
Behind the Thriller in Cebu

By now, you have probably watched (again and again) the country’s latest YouTube phenomenon after Alyssa Alano’s mispronunciation of the song “Kiss Me.”
Over a million views just a week after its upload, the video featuring Cebuano prisoners dancing to “Thriller” has become a worldwide hit. It has not only been featured in the local news, but also in BBC, CNN, and other international news agencies.
But what is it anyway? Is it a form of punishment? A way to divert from gang wars? Or simply a prison version of a recess?
Al Jazeera English reports after the jump.
