You are your own motivational speaker
You paid that guy 80,000 pesos for an hour talk because he said that he is the best motivational speaker in the Philippines. Now you think that he does not deserve the money.
I think you missed the point. That guy is a supersalesman. That guy is not the best motivational speaker in the Philippines, in Asia, in the World, and in the whole Solar System. He made that claim because he accepted the new age teaching of self-attraction and affirmation. The teaching says that you only need to keep on saying that you are the best blank and you will become that blank… continue reading

A bootcamp for motivational and inspirational speakers in the Philippines
I never dreamt of becoming an inspirational speaker. I did not know that such a profession exists. I do not remember anyone from my class who said that he wanted to become an inspirational speaker when he grows up. We wanted to becoming doctors, lawyers, architect, engineers, writers, teachers, mayor, president. We were trained to speak, but not to become an inspirational speaker.
Inspirational speaking is not a course you can take in college. There is also no office available for inspirational speakers. You do not apply to become one. You just become.
Filipinos want to become inspirational speakers
Every month, I receive email messages from people who told me they wanted to become inspirational speakers. They gave me various reasons. Sam told me that he likes speaking before people. Grace and Ana wanted to explore; they have been invited to speak in schools and they liked the experience. Ruben has been training people for 17 years and he wanted to know if inspirational speaking was for him. And there were many more who said that they want to inspire people and make a difference in the world. Each one wanted me to mentor them. They believed that I could help them.
But can I really help Filipinos become inspirational speakers?
I like to help people the best way I can. But I am a hesitant teacher. I am not a guru on inspirational speaking. I am still a student; I believe I will remain so for the rest of my life. Yes, six years after I decided to leave the academe to offer my services to the world as an inspirational speaker, I still see myself as a beginner. I am on a journey and the map is not always clear. I tried to walk fast, but sometimes the road disappears. Sometimes, I ask people for directions and they pointed everywhere.
I can not tell you how to go to a place I have never been.
But I have been to many places and I can tell you about them.
I can tell you about failures after failures after failures and the sweetest success. My experiences taught me about my destiny. It was not my dream to become an inspirational speaker. It was not my dream to train school principals when I was a teacher. It was not my dream to train the leaders of various organizations, large and small. But the journey was a good teacher. So, let us walk and talk. Allow me to share with you the lessons I’ve learned. I also encourage you to share yours. Not just with me, but with people who care for you.
Because your story may change the world
You have a very rich experience and you can always begin where you are. I will open my heart to you and I hope you’ll open yours to mine. I like asking questions, and I hope you won’t mind. I believe that questions lead to answers. I do not have all the answers, but I am trying my best to come up with right questions.
How can I inspire and educate and equip and empower more Filipinos?
That was one of my questions. My answer is to become a willing teacher to those who want to become motivational and inspirational speakers in the Philippines. I know that the world will eventually call me to share my gifts and passions, but I figured that I must start first in the Philippines. So, yes in three months time I will be leading a bootcamp for speakers. I will share with you the principles and practices that will make you successful as a professional inspirational and motivational speaker.
From time to time you will get a letter from me. You will be updated about this goal to develop thousands of life changer – motivational, inspirational, and leadership speakers – in the Philippines.
But if you are interested to join us, do not wait for the next letter. Contact me. Send an email. Ask questions. I am willing to answer.
Tell me also if you are willing to help. I need the help of hundreds of people. We need to create a movement of people who like to make a world of difference in the lives of others. Here is my email: inspire@jefmenguin.com .

Do not wait for extraordinary opportunities
Most people are waiting for the big breaks. But waiting does not ready a man for big breaks. If you want to make it big in life, I dare you not to wait for extraordinary opportunities. Grab every opportunity you have, even the all too common small ones, and make them great.
Only those who welcome small opportunities into their lives can truly recognize the big one when it comes. The world is filled with stories of successful people who persisted, seized the day, and make the most of what they have.
The first time I offered my seminars to school teachers, I sent letters to 100 schools. Many teachers are not confident speakers and I thought I could help. Only one school invited me to share my “speaking secrets”. But they did not send their teachers. They asked me to share it to grade 5 and grade 6 student leaders. Of course, I shared my speaking secrets to elementary students. I was secretly hoping that they could share their newly found confidence to their teachers.
During my first public seminar, only two participants came. They attended because they were friends. I did not earn money on that day. But I was able to rehearse my Speak with Confidence workshop. There is no small opportunity. Grab the first opportunity, no matter how small it may seem, for that is an opportunity to the next one. So the next time you are invited to speak to a hundred and only 10 come, speak like you are speaking to millions. Those ten persons can create for you hundreds, thousands, and even millions of audiences. Just be great and do your best every time.
When was the last time you missed an opportunity? Take action. Today is an opportunity to share your experience with other people.

Leadership Quotes for Filipino Motivational Speakers
By Jef Menguin
Your favorite quotations reflect the way you see life, or at least your ideals of what life should be. Below are my favorite leadership quotes. I think anyone who has the desire to lead people — managers, supervisors, teachers, CEOs, motivational speakers and others — will benefit from these leadership quotes.
When I was looking for these quotes, I actually wonder if the presidential candidates like Noynoy and Bro. Eddie have the leadership characteristics we all need. Of course, I also thought of Gibo and Dick Gordon. And there are those who have people working for them (for money), but do not have real followers. Followers are at the very least those who support the candidates because they believe in them. Not because they’ll be funded for the elections, or paid to say something nice.

Posterous sounds like Prosperous to me
Teambuilding and Teamwork is the title of my new blog. The purpose is to promote sound practices and principles of team building. I now have a renewed interest in team building. For the last eight months, I’ve been doing teambuilding seminars at least three times a month here in the Philippines. I have already created a squidoo lens on Teambuilding and Workshops in the Philippines, but I can only add few content.
This is why I am happy this morning. I have discovered a new way of blogging which is pretty easy for me at posterous.com. And yes, the Title of my blog is Teambuilding and Teamwork. I can practically place there even the contents on another site which I believe will be of help to my readers. All with proper attribution.
So, many thanks for this day.
