I have heard rumors about the governments incapability to handle cases like rape and abuse on women and children. But I never did realize how stupid I am for not believing.

I was supposed to write an article with the same title about 2 days ago, but I was too lazy to do it. But the situation is just too persistent.

Around 7am this morning, my professor called me and my two other classmates and instructed us to go the police station near the vicinity and capture the latest activity there our assignment. So I head straight to it. At the entrance, I saw four policemen staring at me as if I was a culprit. I went to the front desk and inquire about the latest case they are handling. The fat guy pointed me to the seniors table, and there I found this girl who is crying, alongside her mom.

She is in her 20’s. I can see half of her face, while the other half is contained by her palm. She was crying. I know. Its not fake. The reason? She was raped.

2008 – International Year of the Potato

The United Nations announced that 2008 is the International Year for the Planet Earth, Languages, and yes, Potato.

A lot of people are wondering why potato? Many of us do not know that the potatoes we are eating, the french fries that all of you love to eat, those mashed potatoes available in your favorite KFC stores, are very essential specially to those who are living in poor situated regions. Potato for breakfast, potato for lunch, potato for dinner. That is their normal eating day. That is the reason why U.N. wants to increase the peoples awareness and concern about this underrated crop, of which, according to surveys, is the 4th largest crop when it comes to the rate of harvest every annually.
