If you were able to track the posts I have made in this blog, you might be wondering why I have a gadget review all of a sudden. Well, I just tried requesting for a trial from WOMWorld just like what Kuya did to review the Nokia E71. In my case, I requested for a Nokia E90 Communicator that shall be returned to WOMWorld after having the opportunity to test it out for a span of 2 weeks. Isn’t that cool? It’s hot! :)

Sun Tech Days in Manila 2008

Almost a week had passed since the extremely pleasing days filled with Java technologies from the Sun Tech Days in Manila that was held at the Makati Shangri-La. If I remember correctly, this one’s the 3rd Java event I have attended since Java in Manila (2 years ago) and the Sun Tech Days (4 years ago) that were both held in the same venue. Well, this year’s the 10th anniversary of Sun Tech Days and there was even a cake made for the celebration:

It was already a month since this very memorable event. I was actually Twittering during the ceremony (thanks to DILNET’s WiFi at Quezon Hall) at the same time figuring out of what’s going to be “next in line” – yes, that familiar song that has been played a lot of times in elementary/high school graduations. What is TagBux ?

TagBux is a Web 2.0 application developed through Open Source technologies (Java EE and Wordpress) and patterned from social networking applications such as Shelfari. It lets you use tags to assign labels to books and was designed to test the accuracy of tagging as compared to the subject headings assigned to books. The library collection that was chosen for this study is the Philippine Science High School (PSHS) Diliman Library. Through this study, library users will be able to discover the popular topics or genres in a library’s collection through the frequencies of tags.
