Movie: 17 Again
How I wish i could go back time and relive my salad years. But that is something that can only happen in movies like “17 Again”.
Mike was a basketball player who had his girlfriend impregnated. And so he decided to leave his carreer and had a family with her. As years go by, he became affected by his lack of vision and always felt that he was not good. A pending divorce was awaiting. Then with a spirit guide, he was transformed into that youth when he was still 17. At this age, he learned about his teenagers problems and about his wife’s strengths which he didn’t see before.
A good movie to learn about life.
Smart’s All Text MMS 20
Smart launched a promo wherein you can send 100 sms/mms to smart/talkntext for 20 pesos. This is good news for those who like sending photos to friends of the same network. I just wish they extend the expiry to one week at least.
Send ATM20 to 2827 or have it via eload.
Globe’s Enhanced Time Duration Browsing
I am pleased to announced that Globe has changed it’s ways of charging consumers using time browsing. Before, one is charged wih 5 pesos for 15 minutes per session.
For example, if you were disconnected after 5 minutes from the initial connection, then connect again, you will be charged another 5 pesos. Now, similar to Smart, the 5 pesos cover the whole 15 minute duration regardless of how many time you were disconnected and connected.
Thanks Globe for making browsing cost better. I just hope the service will also improve.
Movie: Confessions of a Shopaholic
Rebecca Bloomwood, was a journalist who was addicted to shopping for clothes, shoes, etc. Accidentally she landed a job as a financial journalist in Successful Saving, her intention was to get to the top of the group of companies of Dante West, Alette (fashion magazine). She did not know much about finances but with a twist of fate, her one column got worldwide good reviews to the point she got famous. Unfortunately, the debt collector who had been hunting her for around 9K worth of debt exposed her during her tv interview. All her glory went down. She accidentally sold her best friend’s bridesmaid gown and hurt his boss who she loved.
Realizing her mistake, she sold off all her wardrobe, paid her debts, and was back to her boss’s arms in the end. Of course, the mannequin winked at her again after putting a pair of red shoes on the display platform. Hmmm….. Shopaholic would strike again?
This movie was superb, funny, and not without a lesson.
Smart Bro Prepaid Lowered to P1,995. BS!
I just bought mine a few months ago amounting to P2,500. At first, the service was poor so I kept on complaining to them by calling their hotline. Then after a few months, I was surprised because the service got faster. Then just a few days/weeks ago, I have been encountering the same problem like the first one. The speed even got to low 16 kbps per second. Much slower than using a dial-up ISP. My load seemed evaporated because I could not browse properly. Now, I happened to browse at Saturday’s newspaper and found out that they lowered the cost of the unit tp P1,995! Isn’t this plain cheating?!!
I warn those who plan on buying the Smart Bro prepaid. If you have a friend who already had one, better borrow and test it first with your computer. You might end up with deep regret that you bought a unit.
Movie: Quarantine
Just saw Quarantine at the movie house. Although the movie was a good thriller but the way it was shot, the video cam moved so much that it got me dizzy. It’s unfortunate that they had to use video cam as a tool for the shooting.
The story was about a reporter who was interviewing the fire department. There was an emergency call and she went with some of the firemen. When the group arrived at the house, they saw a woman who suddenly bit the face of one of the firemen. Later, they were surprised that the whole building was quarantined. They learned that a dog had a strain of rabies that spread within just a few minutes in the blood of the victim – an unusual strain indeed.
Well in the end….. who could escape such fate?
Prediction on Red Mobile
Yesterday, Nov. 22, 2008, was the launching of Red Mobile. It’s a rebranding of umobile.
It’s a prepaid service offering 0.50/min call and text rate red to
red. Sounds cheap?
Guess again! I was excited at first but when i read that the sim will only on 3G phones, i was dismayed. Not only that but, the internet browsing, which most mobile users are beginning to use costs 7.50/min.
So before you get the benefit of the low rate, you have to shell out around 5K for a 3G phone and ask your friends to do the same.
Now, anyone still interested?
Movie: Passengers
A plane crash happened. Claire (Anne Hathaway) became a therapist for all the surviving passengers. One of the male passengers always came on her until she begun developing feelings for the man. She had a boring life before and this man gave her the meaning of it. HOWEVER, in the end, the viewers will realize that it’s too late for her in a sense.
The movie was a little bit boring in the beginning but in the end, i liked it. Not much films to watch this weekend. So this is the best so far.
Irritating Xmas Songs at the LRT Stations
If I were in America, I would like to sue LRT management for playing xmas songs loudly and irritatingly at the stations. I think I might have a chance to win.
Does the management of LRT lack human or social skills? Did their course at the school didn’t include social sciences? Don’t they know that in the morning it is quite irritating to hear jolly songs when all of the passengers are pushing each other inside the trains or have been standing at the station for more than 15 minutes waiting for the arrival of their trains? Listening to xmas songs at the LRT is like hearing a bunch of good-for-nothing people jeering at those who are suffering from heat, exhaustion and stress due to work.
I think it would be of help if they play some soothing songs to calm down the nerves of passengers. And note! not all human beings are christians!
Rouge
I don’t know the meaning of the word “Rouge” but the movie was rough! The story was about a group of tourist who explored the water of Australia with a guide. The guide told them that the crocodiles in the area were the wildest but it wouldn’t attack anything larger than they.
When they saw a flare in the sky and went to the area, little they did know that the there was a huge or should i say giant crocodile who felt that his territory was under attacked. So the giant croc begun attacking them. They were stranded in an island which was fast being flooded by the tide. They tricked the crocodile into attacking a bait of dead ducks so they could cross to the other side of the lake.
One of the tourist tried to save the guide and was able to tricked the croc into biting him. However with a long sharp wood, the stupid croc got his brain pierced and so it died.
If you would be in Australia, would you go the crocodile infested lake? I know i wouldn’t.
