Sense of humor is important on a day to day basis. It’s been said of the Pinoys that we are pretty ingenuous when it comes to making light of things, not because we are escapists, but maybe because we are a “happy” people … as ordinary people we don’t resort to guns to solve our problems. We tend to see the lighter side of things. One display of a Pinoy’s sense of humor is in the play of words. In the recently held MTV VMA, Britney was awarded female video, pop video and video of the year for her single “Piece of Me” which were the first three VMA in her career.

Through the ages of mankind, the topic of LOVE is always been a favorite preference of any piece or work of art! It’s because LOVE is one of the foundation why we keep breathing and living in this world full of surprises. No matter what medium it is conveyed, the theme of love always moved people. It’s powerful and it’s domineering.
I stumbled one time reading comments on some sites and learned that many Rainbow advocates and supporters had watched the movie: Love of Siam. It is a Thai romantic-drama film. There is one scene that is a focal point of controversy (watch video below). It is simply a gay teen romance of two teenage boys (Mario Maurer as Tong and Witwisit Hiranyawongkul as Mew) but the film’s story revolves around the value of friendship, loving and being loved, family’s quest for unity of a loss member, separation and loneliness, identity crisis amidst affection, obedience of a son and protection of a mother, camaraderie and understanding of friends, musical talent and how gifted the young of today, infatuations and unrequited admirations as part of teen life, the many diversities of emotions, and of course, the right to choose the kind of sexual preference you want to live.

I didn’t find the movie funny at the start compared to Schneider’s previous movies. But as the movie goes on and on, I started to get into his jokes and laugh hard. This movie reminds me of ‘The Longest Yard’ by Adam Sandler.

I was listening to one of my all-time favorite songs, Open Arms, on mp3 last night when I remembered that JJ had mentioned that Journey has got a new lead singer–a Filipino. I searched for Arnel Pineda on Youtube and my gawd, was I pleasantly taken aback! The guy has got the pipes. I momentarily forgot my sneezing and coughing as I marveled at the parity of the vocals of Pineda and the erstwhile golden boy (uh…with dark hair :)) of Journey, Steve Perry. Fresh from his stint in Harvard, United States, where he was granted scholarship in Publc Finance Administration, Usec. Robert T. Rivera went straight to the set of his show: Pilipinas Ngayon Na! Barely days after he arrived in the country, Usec. Rivera hosted the launching of the Philippine Juicy Fruits of Bella Dimayuga. Bella Dimayuga, the very nationalistic President of Bellestar Promotions who conceptualized the idea that her talents be named after Philippine Fruits to promote our country abroad, with his husband Ed, took charge of the affair. The event was splendid! The crowds were so energetic! The voice of “Marvic” a.k.a. “Makopa”, as she dances with the Bellstar Dancers, was so powerful! Usec. Rivera at the set, was amazed. We taped the event from our own cameras we brought in with us and uploaded Marvic’s performance. It was really splendid! Amazing! Amusing! Watch it for yourself to witness:
