I will be trying different things from now on. Things not including alcohol, nicotine, and partying. And spending my whole paycheck into empty things.
Like for example, useful and informative blogging. I have been trying to get into it for a long time now, I just can’t find the right timing and inspiration to actually do it. So what made me start now? Paid blogging. Fun right? Paid or not, I will still continue to blog.
For some blogging is a form of tension release, as well as mind therapy. When you have lots of things in mind, and you can’t stop fidgeting alone, you would always want to talk and say things aloud. Just for the sake of releasing it. The usual bigger problem on top of that is you don’t have anyone to talk to. No loved one to share it with, friends are all busy, or you’re a plain dead kid.. a loner.
I do that. Most of the time. Hell I do that everytime I blog. And often than not, I actually don’t care if someone reads and comments post after post. But I’m getting tired of my usual topics.. i mean topic.. myself. Boring. For most blog hoppers. Not for me. so it’s time to make a change.
From now on, I will keep my personal blogs in my multiply page, where most of my friends can annotate, and informative blogs here. Topics would vary from my passion: teaching to whatnots like grass or rain. Whatever that can be useful to any form of creature who flies around the cyber world. Music, movies, books, people, happenings. My grammar isn’t at all grand, but I learned English enough during my school years, so pardon me if I lack a little in my communication skills. I ask of you now for a little encouragement and appreciation that a small blogger like me can be an instrument to cater to whatever needs bloggers and non-bloggers have. For now, let’s just leave this blog as it is. An intoduction.
Thank you.

When Nokia Philippines, sent us an invite for Nokia ACTS (Artists Coming Together to Serve), I just had to come despite its Sunday afternoon schedule. Nokia ACTS is a collaboration between Nokia Philippines and the talented minds behind Rock Ed Philippines. It has built on the latter’s Project VIA (Volunteers Initiative for the Arts) whose primary goal is to teach underprivileged children how to either play musical instruments or train for voice via music camps.
“Through this program, we hope to make an impact in the lives of the children by giving them a chance to excel in something and a chance at a future profession,” says William Hamilton-Whyte, General Manager, Nokia Philippines. “We are glad to have partnered with Rock Ed Philippines who are very passionate in their belief that we should ‘educate to end poverty’.”

Philippine Independence Parade Madison Avenue, New York
On the 6 train, I was deep in my thoughts on what I should capture in the Philippines’ Independence celebration. I was contemplating on what is essential to me as a Filipino who chose to work in the Big Apple. Do I deserve to make a video about it knowing I have been out of touch with my culture for a long time? Would I sound credible to talk about Filipino customs that I do not observe regularly? Why do I have doubts that I feel like a lost “Pinay”; stranger to the heritage I was born and raised with when I decided to live in another country?
I was at Madison Avenue with my reliable director. While he was recording parts of the parade of Filipinos proudly waving the flag, I was at the back too shy to even talk to my fellow countrymen. I heard them speak in my native tongue which was an irony to my lips laden already with the New York “Twalk”. It was indicative that the day would be hopeless for me. Suddenly, my Hispanic Director called me to go in front to catch a better view of the parade. In truth, I was …..to continue reading, visit www.filteany.com

The Lange Foundation – Jillian Lange
The Lange Foundation featured on Oprah is a foundation dedicated to adopting animals/pets that no longer have their homes. Therefore, stopping or minimizing pet killings, those are on deathrow on most shelters that don’t have space.
It would be nice if we have something like this in the Philippines. Anyways, here is the video on Oprah.

My vacation trips continued last Friday with my officemates to Real, Quezon. After office, we had our dinner at SM MegaMall then we went to a certain terminal in Manila going to Quezon. We almost occupied the van since we were eight people. It was a long trip to Quezon, that’s all I can say. When the other passengers requested to stop to the nearest gasoline station, we were able to take pictures and used the comfort room. The next stop was already in Quezon were we had “arozcaldo complete.” Complete meaning arozcaldo with chicken, egg and chicharon. That arozcaldo only costs 25 pesos, cheap right?

The California Maki in Rice Paper Roll - California Maki with a Twist
(California maki wrapped in rice paper)
Most Filipinos that love Japanese Foods, especially the ladies, really love eating California Maki. Maybe it is because it’s the most well known Japanese food, aside from Tempura of course. Other than its appearance and reputation, the taste of California Maki is acceptable in most Filipino palates. For the new starters and still learning to eat food items from the sushi bar, the California Maki is the best choice to start. California Maki’s original recipe from countries outside the Philippines, consist of avocado, crabmeat (it could be real crab meat or imitation crabmeat stick “Kani Kama”), cucumber, and lettuce. However, here in the Philippines, we substituted the avocado with our most favorite mango fruit, which even made the California Maki more delicious. Maybe it is because of the availability of the mango all year round, unlike the avocado that is seasonal.

After waiting for 15 minutes, we went to the beach to swim. We even forgot to take pictures. The place was spectacular or I should describe it as mesmerizing. The sand is almost powder white, the water is clear on some parts where there are no algae and the background of the beach is really wonderful. There were even yacht on the beach with different prints and color backgrounds on it. There’s a MYX yacht, VELVET, Yellow Cab and many more.

I have a lot of classmates who doesn’t want to be in their course (computer science). It’s whether they want to be a fashion designer, photographer and other careers that are not related to computer science. At the middle of the semester, they shift to other course. Others are struggling because their parents want computer science for them. Realizing this, I want to save others from picking the wrong career for them. If you want to be a computer science major, then you need to consider these 7 questions.

02/10/99 After more than 10 hours flight, I finally landed in Bahrain. That was already 1am. Ate Bing from the Agency informed me that there will be someone to fetch me up at the airport holding a placard with my name on it. I looked around. No one was there. Until one guy approached me “Michelle?” I was afraid. I simply checked his uniform, when I saw the company’s logo, I was relieved. He took my bag and brought me to the parking lot. However, there’s still this feeling that what if he’s not the one? Hehehe! I was totally relieved when I finally saw that placard that he was supposed to be carrying with him. It was inside the van. He must have left it there. I was just quiet…. Not even a single word came from my mouth. I was new, what do you expect. Then he started, “here’s your photo, that’s how I recognized you”.
