Movie: Iron Man

May 5, 2008

Tony Starks is a genius in making missiles. He developed the Jericho missiles which were very powerful. He was abducted by some terrorists who forced him to create missiles for them. Instead, he developed his first Iron Man armor using the weaponry stacked by these terrorists. He was able to escape and got back to the city. Before he left, he saw the scientist who revived his heart and helped him build the suit.

He had a change of heart and became more responsible. He perfected his armor and fought back the terrorists. His heart gadget was stolen and was used by his father’s friend to build an Iron Man suit which hit him hard. The gadget was able to power the enemy’s suit more than his old one.

Of course in the end, he was able to defeat the villain. In the end, he admitted being the Iron Man. Question is …. is there a sequel or none?

The movie was about a pathology doctor who join a clinic. Unfortunately, a group of pathologists in the said clinic was psychotic. That was until his fiancee joined him in his apartment and he realized that he must stopped this madness. He blew up the place where they hung out to get rid of the psychotics. But the leader was able to escape and killed his love. In the end, he got his revenge by paralyzing the leader while his colleague opened his chest. Nice vengeance.

The Fifteen Best Comic Book Movies of All Time! (Nos. 10-6)

April 29, 2008

iron man week

Like all great movie trilogies, the second movie has to live up to the first, and maybe even try to surpass it. It also has to build the story and the conflict for the third movie’s awesome finish. On top of all that, it has to stand on its own. It has to be a strong enough movie so it won’t feel like just a bridge connecting two towers of AWESOME. That’s a lot of responsibility for a movie. Thank God this isn’t a movie. This is the second part of Cinemabuzz, Comicology, and Face Rockery’s collaborative list of the 15 Best Comic Book Movies of All Time! HAHAHAHAaaaiiineed a drink.

Now, before we start, make sure you’ve read the first part of the list over at Cinemabuzz. If you haven’t done that yet, please do so now. … Done? Awesome. Let’s go.

A True Mean Girl Story

April 25, 2008

mean girls week

To end Mean Girls Week, I think it’s appropriate if I share a mean girl story. A story plucked from my own retarded high school past. It’s not a story about skanky bitches calling everybody “sluts” and “whores”. It’s about high school drama, angst, and awkward silences. It’s about me being in jail with a girl named Vanessa.

I went to a Catholic school in Sta. Rosa, Laguna. Canossa School to be exact. A place were dreams are born and hearts are broken. A breeding ground for leaders, jocks, losers, artists, mean girls, and background dancers for noontime TV shows.

DVD Library #14: Mean Girls

April 22, 2008

mean girls week

To open this totally fabulous Mean Girls Week, I think it’s just appropriate that we start with a review of the Mean Girls DVD. Yes, I got weird looks when I bought it. No, I’m not gay (not that there’s anything wrong with that). I’m just an admirer of this often misjudged modern classic based on a self-help book for parents with no narrative whatsoever. Also, I have a thing for hot girls in pink.

Movie: All Over Her Dead Body

March 23, 2008

The story was about Kate who was supposed to get married to Henry but was crashed to death by the ice sculpted angel. Henry was introduced to Ashley, a psychic who initially was just faking about getting signals from Kate. Later on, as she was beginning to fall in love with Henry, Kate was haunting her (Ashley) to stop seeing Henry. Kate was successful but realized in the end that her purpose for still being around was to help Henry move on and be happy. And so Kate get Henry and Ashley together and she let go.

I guess that what’s love about. Letting go of the people we love if it means that he or she would be happy with another person. But honestly, vicious of me, i want them to suffer as well. ha ha ha!

Movie: Untraceable (www.killwithme.com)

February 23, 2008

A thriller film to watch and to learn a lesson from for those internet-user addicts.

The story was about a psycho who kills people by inviting internet users to join him in doing so. The psycho will broadcast the killing of his victims online. Whenever more and more users enter the site, the faster the death of the victim. One victim died from overdose of an anticoagulant, one died from being burned from the heat of bulbs while his hands and feet cemented. And the final one died from sulfuric acid mixed in water. More acid poured in because more internet users entered the site.

The psycho did this because his father committed suicide and the media broadcasted it without any remorse. As part of his revenge, he killed those who took part of his father’s media exposure. I really couldn’t blame the guy for doing such horrible things but he seemed to have gone overboard.

It just shows how people are callous now a days. Just look around and you will see the truth.

The Return of Filipino Animation

February 20, 2008

It’s been years since we last saw a full-length Filipino animation and that time we all reacted that it is not at par yet with American Cartoons, Japanese Anime, and the general Animation industry in the world. BUT, if we kept an open-mind back then, Filipino Animation releases (full-length or otherwise) becomes better and better for every release.

And you know what? This year we will be able to see the (as gamers say it) “bestest” of Filipino Animation has to offer. Want to see the trailers?

The Joker action figure for the Dark Knight movie

February 19, 2008

I just saw this Joker action figure posted in the Darkn Knight group Facebook and I was wondering if this will be their final touch for the Joker figure, it seems that the face of the Joker here looks too happy and not too creepy. It doesn’t look more like Heath Ledger and why am I thinking too much of Robin Williams in this figure haahahaah, maybe this is an effect of too much jokerishism in my life.

Passing Time and Wishing a Happy Chinese New Year!

February 10, 2008

Loving the New Layout

Horaa for the Chinese! They invented the fireworks! Moon Cakes! Noodles! Herbal Meds!

I made 2 reviews recently for Dead Silence and 12 and Holding. Both are very good movies. I recommend them….

There’s nothing really to blog about since I’m such a bum right now…. Damn… I am intoxicating myself with Ladytron, an electric pop band thats really into my taste with house-like genre music….

So novelty. I’m not really much picky with music and I don’t know the band or the people who sang that song, but I really love to listen to the music that they make;

I’m interested in the composition, not the artist. Men.style.com gave out their top ten looks for Fall 2008, which is a little bit odd because it’s still Fall 2007. [When we say Fall 08, it means the line is meant to be for late 2008 to early 2009]

Some of my favorite looks may be a little blast from the past or really bold and out of this world.. or maybe I’m just exaggerating (click on the image to know where it came from):

The Hunting Party

February 6, 2008

thehuntingparty_bigreleaseposter.jpgUpdated February 6, 2008: The film is based on a true story. The name of the villain in the film, how forgetful of me to fail to indicate this, is Radovan Karadzic - war criminal and former leader of the Bosnian Serbs.

I just saw the DVD copy of the film The Hunting Party starring Richard Gere and Terrence Howard.

It was a satisfactory film, with all the trappings of a lighthearted satire on the hypocrisy of the industrialized countries and the international media. But sometimes the funny side and the serious side of the film fail to gel together.

It tells the story of three journalists who planned to capture one of Bosnia’s top war criminal. Called only as “the fox,” this villain was responsible for many horrors during the war that broke up Yugoslavia in the 90s.
