It’s been a while since my last post.
I admit, I pushed blogging at the back of the shelf for a while while I absorbed all the new things that started to occupy me since our move here - Bruce, the interior designing, the landscaping project, the new online business that Warren and I are working on and so on… These things tie me down lately and I can’t resist. I hope our regular readers (if any) have the patience to understand me.
Anyway, while I have kept mum about the endless blessings that God continue to shower our little family, Warren on the other hand kept his fingers busy typing it all away, so you didn’t really miss much.

Yesterday was my mom’s 60th birthday. I got so worried about her when my sister sent a SMS message telling that she is ill. I called her up to greet her and to have a long chat with her. I think we chatted for about four minutes then she passed the cell phone to my father. My mom was still stuttering because of her medication. She sounded weak and helpless. I hope she gets well soon. Arghh…I still feel guilty that I left too soon. I am somewhat secured that she is being taken care of since my other sister just came home from London.

A high school classmate died on June 13, friends seem to make sense out of an old cliche about the thirteenth of the months falling on a Friday but I just can’t. My mind is far from such trivialities. My mind is centered on how a healthy, good looking, promising and fun-loving thirty two year old could end his life when it was just supposed to be starting…
Yeah, he committed the gravest act of all - suicide. When I found out it was that tragic, I stared into space for quite a while and wondered at how shallow his reason could be? Or how mind-blowing enough to push himself towards committing suicide? Ahhh, friends, high school and college batchmates could only speculate. Whatever the reason, I still wish he did not kill himself.

At a time like this, then it is of the utmost importance that we should be able to interpret correctly this statement concerning judging, because there are many who say that “judge not” must be taken simply and literally as it is, and as meaning that the truly Christian man should never express an opinion about others. They say that there must be no judging whatsoever, that we must be easy, indulgent and tolerant, and allow almost anything for peace and quiet, and especially unity. This is not a time for these particular judgments, they say; what is needed today is unity and fellowship. We must all be one together. This is often argued in terms of the danger of Communism. Some people are so alarmed at Communism that they say that, at all costs, all who in any sense use the name Christian should be accepted. We should all agree because of that common danger and common enemy.

Here is a four minute compilation of Paul Washer’s sermon on testing our faith in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour to see if we really do believe in Him as we often say we do.

Do you resent God’s Word?
Everyone would probably be answering “Of course not” to this question, I, too, would say “I do not resent God’s Word one bit” without batting an eyelash if asked the same. But don’t we, really?

Finally, Warren and I are beginning to feel settled. It’s been a really hectic week for us both and it certainly felt like we were lost for a time.
We moved from Quezon City to Angeles City on the 24th of May. The house we were supposed to be moving into was still under construction at that time, there were changes Warren made to the original interior and it took longer than expected for the finishing touches to be applied. While waiting, we had to stay with my parents for a week so we sort of had to adjust to the new setting. We were so used to being just the two of us that having nieces and a nephew, parents and other people coming and going inside the house is a bit “unsettling”, but it also felt good to be home.

I had an entry lined up to address Bishop Tobias’ letter to the IC, but I think I’ll just maybe share my thoughts with you all tonight.
There’s a short back story to this so bear with me please. I had been working on a “gift” that I’ve been meaning to give the CFC Home Office/Center for quite sometime now, but it was only recently that I figured out how to put it together properly and cohesively. If you read the response by the MMC in this entry, you’ll see that the home office has had some issues in communicating with its database of leaders and members because the person in charge joined the FFL. I encountered this verse during my search for a solution for that:
He will judge between the nations and will settle disputes for many peoples. They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore. - Isaiah 2:4
Obviously, you can all read into this however you want, but it particularly struck me in how it relates to what we are doing now - and by we, I mean us the IDOTRCFC bloggers, and the Easter Group. It made me think about the over all effect (global effect, if you may) caused by the CFC split and the subsequent, very public, tit-for-tat exchange it has generated.

This morning, my daily devotional prompted me to read Romans 12:9-21 for further studies. I turned my bible to the appointed section and it read:
Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with God’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.
Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited.

“The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’ ” Genesis 3:2-3
the woman’s logic was aroused
its her chance to prove to Satan and to herself that she knows more than she thinks
Satan began with a false question arousing Eve’s logic (Genesis 3:1)
challenging her wits
tempting her to prove her worth to the world
but Eve responded wrongly (Continue Reading Here…)
God is Love.
Sadly, this, too, is an overused and often misused phrase. A believer surely understands what I am saying here, but for the benefit of those swift to conclude such, I would like to explain the misconception behind the famous phrase and Bible verse by taking you along with me in my reading of Dr. John MacArthur’s book entitled “The Love of God”.

Apparently we’re stuck in the 3rd century.
@issai
you are dead wrong. you should be afraid.
1. you clearly blasphemed the attributes of Christ by saying He tolerates sin
2. we Christians are called to contend for the faith (Jude 3).
3. defending the truth is not a necessary pattern to be like the Kastila. nowhere in the scripture you will find such claim. its a clear command.
4. your phrase:
“…I will continue to respect and tolerate people, and I will be accountable to God.”…

John 7:24 says “judge with righteous judgment”
Proverbs 31:9 says “Speak up and judge fairly”
Matthew 7: 19-20 says thus, “Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.” (to recognize their fruits, one must use judgment)
2 Thessalonians 3:6 says, “In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, we command you, brothers, to keep away from every brother who is idle and does not live according to the teaching you received from us.” (to know who you should keep away from, judgment is clearly called for)
The above passages are just but a few passages from the Bible that speaks about judging. So yes, it is not a sin to judge per se’, but as John 7:24 says, “judge with righteous judgment”. Judge according to the Scriptures, if you see or hear a brother sin, rebuke him, just as Christ rebuked the Pharisees, Sadducees, the Samaritan woman, Nicodemus and even his disciple Peter when he walked on the water and fell for having little faith, and more.
Being judgmental is the very essence of discerning right from wrong, for how can you separate good from the bad if you do not judge? However, it must be taken into full consideration that we must judge fairly and righteously, so if I’d write here that atheism is sinful and is an abomination before the eyes of God, certainly I am being judgmental but also, it would be safe for me to say that I am using righteous judgment because atheism diminishes the Lordship of God, in fact, it denies God.

An email I received this morning brought me to two different blogs with different perspectives on faith and/or the lack of it.
Dean Lozarie, a member of the Iglesia Ni Cristo, tackles his take on atheism after reading an atheist’s post titled The Arrogance of Faith. Dean intelligently did an interweaving of having and not having faith by saying thus:

Amid the crisis, however, the CSC Forest represents bounty. Today, squirrels can be sighted in the forest including snakes and other wild animals. It represents an ideal environment beyond the four corners of a government edifice. It represents an environment of what our country should be.
We lost track of the trees we planted at the Department of Agriculture and NIA. It reminds us of the past, however, whenever we see flowers of rain trees blooms as rainy season approaches while we walk along the alley of the Office for Legal Affairs. We can only hope, however, that those trees are now as tall, as big and cared dearly, where squirrels can hide, live and play in peace, like in the Civil Service Commission’s Centennial Forest, presently under Acting Chair Cesar Buenaflor.

For the LORD will not reject his people; he will never forsake his inheritance… - Psalm 94
Last night, I finally got on Grace Talk Soup to talk about my own testimony on how the Lord found me and on being a homemaker. It was the first time I was invited to talk about myself and how I became a believer and honestly, I am not proud of how it all turned out.

Lately, I am starting to notice a few drastic changes in my life. I seem to be losing and gaining at the same time and the process can be physically and emotionally draining at times.
I was chatting with Sis. Vangie the other day and I said something to her that made me see where the physical toil and emotional “madness” is coming from.
Incidentally, it was also the same day that I had to finally confront a homosexual former classmate and let her know my stand. Well, this friend had been bugging me for quite sometime now about her “crush”, also a former high school friend and a female. My homosexual classmate’s been asking me to find the girl’s phone number and to “bridge” for her.
The first time she asked me about a month ago, I turned her down gently, just laughing it off, sending her a series of ROFL emoticons ended with a short “guffaw”, then I immediately signed out, well, changed stealth settings on her I mean.

for the past few days i was witnessing my wife’s persecutions
i know she is emotional
most women would be
and would get offended easily
but i confirmed with her that we as Christians exist in this world to evangelize
to be like Christ
to be salt and light of this world
and not to defend ourselves
because ourselves are gone
we have died to ourselves and live to God
the old has gone and the new has come
i see her nodding in agreement
but later on shed turn back to what she just vomitted

Sigh…
This, my dearest friends, is what happens when we step into the battle-ground alone. We are not simply battered and bruised, we are also terribly defeated.
I confess, the past days I have been struggling for self-preservation (which I actually was not aware that it was until pointed out to me by Pastor Larry), I have been wallowing in self-pity in this little corner of my selfish world, sinning as I go along- cursing and killing people in my mind and in my heart, seeking and feeling thirsty for vengeance.

“Make amends with this person you have hurt first before facing the Lord God!”
These words were vehemently thrown into my face this morning by someone who tells me she is a Christian. I was taken aback by her words. They were strong, commanding and filled with hatred for me.
Yes, I have hurt people in the past and though I tried to make amends, I was brushed off with hurtful and condemning words. So I resolved to stay in my own little world and shove it all behind, I tried not to look back because each time I would do so, I was being met with expletives, accusations and belittling. I was called names, names not even a dog would dare be called.

Filipino celebrities joined the international campaign against foie gras (say FWAH-GRAH) by taking the ‘No Foie Gras’ Pledge organized by PETA Asia-Pacific. The Pledge states that they will never buy or eat foie gras because they ‘believe that force-feeding ducks and geese with long metal tubes is extremely cruel.’ The signatories of the pledge include model Isabel Roces, Senator Bong Revilla, and veteran actor Eddie Gutierrez. Let’s follow their lead and do an online pledge against foie gras here…
