Million Dollar Avatar – Get Hits or Die Tryin’
A while ago, I received a notification about my link being featured in the Million Dollar Avatar homepage. It was not unusual though because they feature 100 random member avatars in their homepage every 24 hours. I was just glad that my link was already featured a day after I signed up. This project is another addition to the previously made efforts for blog promotion like MyBlogLog, 2000 Bloggers, blog networks, content aggregators, and several directories, and many other ways.
Four ways that your site gets promoted at Million Dollar Avatar
- Every 24 hours, they display 100 random member avatars on the homepage so your link will be displayed at their homepage for 24 hours.
What I did to get a higher ranking at Technorati?
I’ve been blogging at Culture Shiok! for more than a month now. It’s only been a month and yet I can no longer remember where I learned about Technorati and how I started to get links. I do remember quite vividly that I reviewed John Chow’s blog to get a link in return. I think that got me addicted to increasing my ranking. I started getting some ranking buttons from Philippine blog listings: Top Pinoy Blogs, Pinoy Top Blogs, Pinoy Blogs, Pinoy Top 100 and Blog Junkie. I also solicited links from other bloggers. I got listed in several blog directories (they don’t give links though). I signed up for Philippine blog aggregators PinoyBlog: The Philippines According to Blogs and Pinoy Blogosphere. I also joined Promote Your Site and bla.st. From 2.6 millionth when I started, now I’m ranked 83,319th by Technorati. Not so bad for a starter like me. What do you think? Read more
2000 Bloggers
Millions of blogs are out there and many more are being churned out by the minute. And who are the people who created and maintain these blogs? A-list bloggers, B-list or even C-list ones… all kinds of folks from all walks of life. It’s rare to see them together in one place. Usually you’d find them surfing around two of the biggest bloggers’ networks, Technorati and MyBlogLog, but Tino Buntic had a better idea. Why not just take 2000 of those millions and put their photos together into a collage. Call it “2000 Bloggers” and you got yourself 1999 backlinks and 1999 other people to network with. Plus there is of course that extra zing of being included in the elite 2000. And if plans came through, those lucky 2000 may be featured on the cover of a book on blogging by Joseph Jaffe.

SEO Contest Explained
In laymans term, SEO contest is a competition participated by webmasters using a search engines website pagerank system. Typically, the contest uses a nonsense and non-existent keyword for optimization. Some of the most famous SEO contest keywords include the hommingberger gepardenforelle, nigritude ultramarine and the V7ndotcom Elursrebmem. Generally, the keywords used in all SEO contests have no meaning because of these two reasons:
1. To avoid older websites to have a head start against newer sites.
2. To protect the ordinary internet searchers from the so-called search results spams.
