Angel Locsin Goes Topless for Folded & Hung
June 24, 2008
Now I understand why Angel Locsin did not renew her contract with Jag Jeans. She is now the new endorser of Folded & Hung (F&H) joining Maja Salvador and Claudine Barretto. Angel Locsin is definitely the sexiest woman in the Philippines (no offense to the fans of Marian Rivera. I was smirking when I realized that Marian Rivera was thinking that she got the Jag endorsement because she is famous than Angel Locsin when in reality Angel Locsin got a better offer than her.

Teenage Love Affair Music Video
May 29, 2008
This is my current favorite song “Teenage Love Affair” from Alicia Keys. I just can’t get enough of this song. Alicia Keys is flaming hot in this music video. She’s getting prettier in her music videos. Too bad, I can’t watch her concert here in the Philippines this year.

Judy Ann Santos, TV Commercial Queen
May 26, 2008
This month a lot of new TV commercials flashed our TV screens. I also noticed that Judy Ann Santos conquered the advertising scene with her many TV commercials. Here so far are her TV commercials: Maggie Magic Sarap, Datu Puti Vinegar, Pantene Shampoo, Fitrum, Pride Detergent, Angel Condensada, a certain Splash product and Lactacyd feminine wash. One TV commercial that really stand out was her newest Pantene Shampoo commercial. Would you believe that she is hailed as one of the most beautiful woman in the Philippines? Judy Ann Santos and Claudine Barretto replaced Angel Aquino and Dawn Zulueta in the Pantene commercial. Is this most beautiful ad campaign just for promotion or people really voted? With her huge transformation, she really deserved this title.

American Idol Top 3 Performance Night
May 21, 2008
I was really excited to watch the American Idol top 3 performance. I’m glad I was on time to watch it. The first round of the competition, the finalists performed songs from the judge’s choice. David Archuleta started the show followed by Syesha Mercado and David Cook. According to Simon Cowell, the David Cook won the first round but I think David Archuleta did better. Syesha Mercado surprisingly greatly improved and she was stunning. She looked like a star.

American Idol Top 3 Finalists
May 21, 2008
Surprisingly, I haven’t blogged about American Idol for the last two weeks. My busy schedule might have something to do with it. Anyway, I’ll just do the recap for the last two weeks. Brooke White on the last week of April finally went home, finally. Her forgetting of lyrics and crappy performance was in fact the reason why America did not vote for her.

Heart Evangelista On GMA
May 20, 2008
Last Sunday, I got to watch the welcome party of Heart Evangelista on SOP on our way to SM Southmall. It was freaky to watch Heart Evangelista on a different channel. She looked very “masa” on GMA. Her welcome party in SOP was also disappointing. It looked unprepared and weren’t thought of. What’s more funny was their video message to Heart Evangelista. GMA’s artists like Paulene Luna, German Moreno, Richard Gutierrez and Caridad Sanchez welcomed her as a “Kapuso.” Now I wonder who are the big stars of GMA 7.

Charles’ Reviews: Ploning
May 15, 2008
In celebration of Judy Ann’s 30th birthday, she stars and produced a remarkable and ground-breaking film Ploning.
Judy Ann Santos stars as Ploning, a simple girl from Barrio Cuyo in Palawan, that embarks a simple relationship-based story to her father, lover and everybody else in their small Barrio. It may be one of Judy Ann’s best performance, a truly remarkable feat for her. Ploning conveys a simple message: Ang pag-ibig ay naghihintay at umaasa, na kahit sa anong paraan, maaari tayong magbigay ng pag-ibig sa lahat ng tao.

SQUIRRELS IN PHIL. FOREST!
May 15, 2008
Amid the crisis, however, the CSC Forest represents bounty. Today, squirrels can be sighted in the forest including snakes and other wild animals. It represents an ideal environment beyond the four corners of a government edifice. It represents an environment of what our country should be.
We lost track of the trees we planted at the Department of Agriculture and NIA. It reminds us of the past, however, whenever we see flowers of rain trees blooms as rainy season approaches while we walk along the alley of the Office for Legal Affairs. We can only hope, however, that those trees are now as tall, as big and cared dearly, where squirrels can hide, live and play in peace, like in the Civil Service Commission’s Centennial Forest, presently under Acting Chair Cesar Buenaflor.

Dyesebel and Survivor Philippines
May 5, 2008
After the success of Mari Mar in the Philippines, Marian Rivera’s next project, “Dyesebel” will start airing tomorrow on GMA 7 after Joaquin Bordado. I must admit the sneak preview of Dyesebel was nicely done. The cinematography was nice and the background scene was spectacular. Marian Rivera will co-star again with DingDong Dantes. Other stars in the soap are LotLot De Leon, Marco Alcaraz, Jean Garcia, Wendell Ramos, Alfred Vargas and many more. Dyesebel is still directed by Joyce Bernal. I just hope the finesse in the sneak preview will be brought out until the ending of the show. The writers of Dyesebel should have created the story for the whole season. The viewers aren’t expecting the show to be extended when it’s a hit then the story will be butchered.

Young sexy actress Katrina Halili launched her own line of lingeries and swimsuits she called Playmates. The pictorial was held at Sofitel Hotel and was taken by Mark Nicdao.
Commisioned: (almost) Everything in Mainstream Media is.

I just watched Mix recently and found out that the top 10 for today was kind of reasonable.
Except for the fact that most of it are foreign artists, but at least they’re good.
The foreign songs are concentrated in the 5-1 spot, except for a certain top one that has been there for 8 days:
Masarap Dito by Project 1
As far as I know Project 1 is a collaboration of different band members, the song was also used in Coke’s latest ad campaign and it was also featured in Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Plus in ABS-CBN.
Is it really weird that the lyrics have small implications of Coke and Myx is actually a sister company of ABS-CBN?
I Am KC 3rd Episode
April 24, 2008
I finally saw the third episode of KC Concepcion’s I Am KC Drama Anthology. She teamed up with Makisig Morales (Super Inggo) and Zanjoe Marudo. The third instalment of I Am KC is somewhat on the fantasy era. The title of the episode by the way is “Times Up.” From the title itself it dealt with catching up with time.
Let me just summarize the story plot. KC Concepcion was working on a cellphone shop near a grocery store. When she was on her way to the grocery, a robber escaping bumped her and a woman bystander on the floor. The robber played by Zanjoe Marudo was about to help her when he was chased by the security guard. He then escaped leaving KC Concepcion and the woman bystander on the floor.

Lucky Guy?!?
April 17, 2008
I received an email from my friend of pics with this certain guy together with lots of hot and beautiful girls. This was actually the 3rd time that I received an email that contained these kind of pics. The first two I think were long ago, probably more than a year. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I kind of remember that he’s part of the abs-cbn crew? Which is reason enough to have access to be near these girls anytime. This guy’s lucky!
Pinoy Dream Academy Season II
April 9, 2008
I’m really a fan of Pinoy Dream Academy to the point that I bought jackets, notebooks and even pin buttons. I’m a Rosita Bareng fan actually. Oh, please don’t laugh at me like that. She many not be the best singer in town but she never fail to catch the “masa” audience of the show. I like the Pinoy Dream Academy’s format wherein scholars are asked to live inside an “academy” where will they undergo rigid training. Moreover, since they live inside an academy equipped with many cameras and microphones you get to know the attitudes of the contestants and how they interact with each other …

English and Comic Relief c/o Dense Modesto
March 27, 2008
It would be imprudent to equate intelligence with broken English. Nowadays, people seem to think highly of themselves whenever they could speak straight English when in fact, these so-called PINOYS cannot even speak straight Tagalog and worse, they prefer to speak TAG-LISH instead. Most of the pa-sosyal people and kids do that most of the time and that’s more irritating. Have these people not been taught at school that you speak one language at a time if you want clarity and cohesion? If you want to speak in English, then speak in straight English and vice versa with Tagalog. You do not add and mix these two languages to make it seem like your cool and hip and smart. It makes you look cheap and maarte, actually. But of course, not all good English-speaking Pinoys are like that and it would be stupid of me to make such a generalization.
To be honest, to be able to speak in English is essential because as we seek to move towards globalization, this language will help us gain the upper hand in getting a job or a career basically. I think it would be safe to equate good education or sufficient education with good English skills instead. Because not all well-educated, good English speaking people are intelligent, right? Some receive good education because they can afford it. But intelligence is rarely developed as it is mostly based in your genes. So some who receive good education and speak perfect English may not necessarily have the brains to think beyond speaking perfect English. Some.
