It has been a habit since we’ve been partners in school to go out and shop after we get our shy pays. We can actually used it all up in one mall visit. There’s food, clothes, “unnecessary” things and more food tripping.
Then we decided to use some of our money to buy books. More deserving of our pays, I think. Thank God there’s Book Sale. You can find books as low as Ph30.00, like I did. I bought two hard bound books, one is for Php70.00 - Little Doors by Paul Di Filippo and After Dachau by Daniel Quinn for only Php30.00. A hundred bucks for two hard bound-used books (they’re clearly looked unused to me) is such a good deal to pass up.
I’m a one sitting reader. If and only if, I find the book really really interesting. There are stories that I can’t stop reading, and would only leave the book open to go to the bathroom or eat. And After Dachau is one of those worthy books for my time. My hundred buck purchase didn’t disappoint me at all. After Dachau is sucha good read if you’re into Reincarnation and English History. It is fictional and at the same time very informative on historical matters that dated back during 1920’s.

I’m glad that Commission on Higher Education or also known as CHED stopped any increase in tuition for state universities and colleges (SUCs) here in the Philippines. They are also convincing private higher institutions to reconsider their plans to hike tuition and other fees for this school year…b

Mobile phones are everywhere. They are necessity for many people. Imagine a life, without a cellphone for just a month. What about for a year? In this world evolving in the new era of technology, I think a few people can handle that.

Amid the crisis, however, the CSC Forest represents bounty. Today, squirrels can be sighted in the forest including snakes and other wild animals. It represents an ideal environment beyond the four corners of a government edifice. It represents an environment of what our country should be.
We lost track of the trees we planted at the Department of Agriculture and NIA. It reminds us of the past, however, whenever we see flowers of rain trees blooms as rainy season approaches while we walk along the alley of the Office for Legal Affairs. We can only hope, however, that those trees are now as tall, as big and cared dearly, where squirrels can hide, live and play in peace, like in the Civil Service Commission’s Centennial Forest, presently under Acting Chair Cesar Buenaflor.

“Here is a hand-to-hand struggle in all its horror and frightfulness; Austrians and Allies trampling each other under foot, killing one another on piles of bleeding corpses, felling their enemies with their riffle butts, crushing skulls, ripping bellies open with sable and bayonet. No quarter is given; it is a sheer butchery; a struggle between…
Today is World Red Cross and Crescent Day and we honor all Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies worldwide for their efforts in assisting the relief of human suffering in war-torn or disaster-affected areas. This year’s theme is ‘Together for Humanity’. Here’s a story about a man who sees the Red Cross a bit differently…

For Filipinos, crab mentality describes a way of thinking best described by the phrase….“if i can’t have it, neither can you”. It’s a metaphor referring to crabs in a bucket in which, one of them struggles to get to the top but instead is being pulled down by other crabs that are also trying to get to the top.
Now, some may think crab mentality is normal as it implies healthy competition between people. Which is in fact, completely normal. But in more ways than one, it is more destructive than normal, especially if you unintentionally outdo another at the other’s expense. A sad reality it is, as it shows lack of unity among us Pinoys.

“As human-caused biodiversity loss and climate disruption gain ground, we need to keep our sights clear and understand that the measure of a threat is not a matter of whether it is made on purpose, but of how much loss it may cause. It’s an ancient habit to go after those we perceive to be evil because they intended to do harm. It’s harder, but more effective, to “go after,” meaning to more effectively educate and socialize, those vastly larger numbers of our fellow humans who are not evil, but whose behavior may in fact be far more destructive in the long run.” (Ed Ayres, editor of Worldwatch magazine, Nov/Dec 2001)
Carbon Dioxide from Power Plants
In 2002 about 40% of U.S. carbon dioxide emissions stem from the burning of fossil fuels for the purpose of electricity generation. Coal accounts for 93 percent of the emissions from the electric utility industry. US Emissions Inventory 2004 Executive Summary p. 10
Coal emits around 1.7 times as much carbon per unit of energy when burned as does natural gas and 1.25 times as much as oil. Natural gas gives off 50% of the carbon dioxide, the principal greenhouse gas, released by coal and 25% less carbon dioxide than oil, for the same amount of energy produced. Coal contains about 80 percent more carbon per unit of energy than gas does, and oil contains about 40 percent more. For the typical U.S. household, a metric ton of carbon equals about 10,000 miles of driving at 25 miles per gallon of gasoline or about one year of home heating using a natural gas-fired furnace or about four months of electricity from coal-fired generation.

Again as they can to pace through in as much as the hours. The subtext is that different places in few hours so you don’t have to. Why would we have to? They are perhaps talented in their own way but it is they who deserves better forms than this, sums up the problem with his piece well. Places look numbingly the same. As if we are stuck in a loop, a labyrinth, where we keep entering the same place, over and over and over again, a seeing of our reflection in the same multiplying mirrors. Pieces like these are hard to keep selecting a place that contains some inherent.

Does this mean we were not salvages before the Spanish came? Funny. My Swiss husband said that in school they learned that Magellan was killed by savages. Correction then. Make that savages who can read and write! The Spanish even noted when they “discovered†the Philippines that “there is scarcely anybody who cannot read or write in letters proper to the island Manila.†(Pedro Chirino in 1602; source: A page for Philippine Prehistory). This script is called baybayin. Unfortunately, no baybayin documents have survived from before the spanish era (Paul Morrow). Through the years, a lot of fakes have surfaced and have been proven as hoaxes. Hopefully, a few artifacts are standing scrutiny and are now starting to give us a glimpse of the thoughts of prehispanic Filipinos. I have compiled web articles about these artifacts. Read more…
There are many reasons why an individual or a group will want to know the Online Games that is available for the Philippines. You may be a student doing your thesis about online gaming, or a foreign company planning on entering the Philippine Market. I’ve received praises, requests, and thank you’s because of the Philippines Online Games List I have been maintaining for years already (I even received inquiries about how to contact this and that publisher/GSP, like Level-Up Games and IP e-Games to mention two, and I gladly showed them the path).
Some also maintain their own PH-OG List - some will give back credit, some will not (and that’s fine), while some exerted extra effort to create their own listing from scratch, without using or looking at other listings (I praise you). But now, I am giving all of you the freedom. Don’t exert that extra effort to create and/or maintain your own listing, come and use mine, I am releasing the latest version of the Philippine Online Games List under GNU Free Documentation License.
Get it now by visiting this link.
Enjoy! And I hope I helped ya!
God Bless!

I’ve posted a similar entry before in my other blog regarding this but without an image. Haven’t bought my CX 2900 Epson Stylus printer back then. Now its time to present the picture. Judge if it really draws you to laugh or its plain corny. All are from Manila Bulletin.

I should have gone to bed! My attention was, however, caught by
pedestrian observer’s mail - “
let us help kcat bloggers“. Who is kcat after all!
She is a 25 year-old woman suffering from a rare disease called NEUROFIBROMATOSIS TYPE 2 (NF2) for a considerable number of years. She have brain tumors. Her left extremities weakened. She can’t move her left arm and hand, left leg and foot. She can’t walk. Her right face numbs and her facial muscles won’t move. She can’t swallow as well. Her vision blurs and she can’t smile. She’s also deaf. Yet, her site everything has a reason touches the lives of so many not only in the cyber community, but in the real world as well.

Some people think that because they hold a position, they already have this enormous power to trip on someone else’s fate.
Let’s take a call center girl’s (whom I met while while applying at a call center in Cubao which, btw, have slow application process) story for an instance.

An ABC 5 commercial features former ABS-CBN war correspondent Ed Lingao (now Channel 5’s news operations manager) with spiels (this could have been more meaningful if only I remember his exact full lines or embed the actual video):
“Ang tunay na broadcast journalist kinakabahan pero sumusugod pa rin…
…kung wala kang hiya, mahiya ka naman. Kung hindi ka na kinakabahan, matakot ka na.â€
I hope I’m not putting words into Ed’s mouth.

YES! You heard me right. This blogger is looking for a “boy friend†and it’s not me who wants a boy friend but rather my girl friend. Not really my precious girl friend but rather my other girl friend who’s my best friend. Before things get complicated here. Yes, it’s my best friend who’s in dire need of a “boy friendâ€.

Should I be thankful that it’s “FlyDay†or not? Well, honestly speaking I shouldn’t be because I’m financially doomed and my financial resources has been depleted. Bad debt, unforeseen financial expenses, and hospital bills, these are just some of the reasons why I’m broke today.
