An oasis from consumerism

A small pond within a small park in the middle of the Greenhills Shopping Center in the City of San Juan. It is right next to the tiangge (bazaar) and is outdoors, hence the covered walkway between buildings. I wonder if the thousands of shoppers that pass through the park everyday notice just how lush...

Yellow diamonds

Another photo from Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila, this time of the lights under the canopy of the driveway. Just because I like the pattern that they make. It's amazing what one notices when one's a little tipsy....

Creative Writing 101: Sunset

Describe a sunset as viewed by a character that is in bliss; describe the same sunset but this time as seen by a character that is in gloom. A mixture of blood and smoke scattered beyond the vast firmament of heaven.. Dispersed in malformed glorious clouds; half part is sprinkled in snow and the [...]...

Like last year, all the music groups of the university gathered together for a concert in the Church of the Gesù. The star-shaped lights inside the church were cycling through all...

One Big Night

Today's the day—the grand celebration of the Ateneo de Manila University for its 150th anniversary, its sesquicentennial! And the reason why I haven't been online much these past couple of weeks. We begin with a wreath-laying at the Ateneo Heroes Memorial, then a Mass at the Church of the Gesù, where...

Split hull

I do not know anything about this boat, even its name, which was just a string of numbers that my brain refused to remember. I just like how catamarans look. It was docked near Harbour Square last weekend when we went to the Cultural Center of the Philippines to watch The Nutcracker performed by Ballet...
