Circumstantial Culture
Being away from home allows one an opportunity to look at his own people with a detached perspective. It is with that note that this blog is being written.
Because I am overseas, I only manage to get fresh news from home by watching the news in TFC. It is very refreshing to hear news of Filipinos achieving so much in the fields of boxing, entertainment/music, fashion and sometimes, even science, but it is quite disconcerting to hear news about the degenerating political and social climate in the Philippines. But I am not a political science expert nor am I an authority in social analysis. I speak of what is simply on my mind right now, as I also think of the future of the Filipino people.
Politics, It’s in the Air We Breathe
No, this has got nothing to do with the National Elections.

‘Butcher’ in the House
“The prime duty of the Government is to serve and protect the people…” – Article II, Section 4-Philippine Constitution
The fundamental purpose of the Government is to give order to a society and maintain its basic unity. It is created by the people, without the people there is no Government. Therefore, one of its thrust is to serve and protect the interest of the people.
For me, the party-list system is a scheme for the people to see that there is a representation of different sectors in our society. It is very essential to have the voices of the “marginalized and underrepresented” be heard in the Lower House. But since it started in 1998 election, it has been corrupted and ill-used by other pseudo-sectoral organizations backed and financed by prominent individuals, political parties and dynasties to serve their vested interest.
From mass murder to one act of rebellion
From Thoughts Brewed 24/7
Okay. I really don’t find the declaration of martial law as a good step to solve the Ampatuan Massacre. After all, the Constitution only states that there are two situations where a martial law can be proclaimed, either if the state is under invasion or rebellion. Obviously, the situation goes to the latter. Rebellion.
The Ampatuan massacre killed as much as 57 lives, 31 of which are journalists. Only Datu Unsay Mayor Andal Ampatuan is under the hands of the government. He was charged with 25 counts of murder. All witnesses point him as the mastermind of the killings. Weeks have passed and until now, no one is convicted for the criminal act. This led to the declaration of the much-feared martial law.
If the state is inflicting countless murder to its people, will you consider it a rebellion? Or if it is the state which started the whole disorder, is it a rebellion? Let us not forget that this is a crime done by those in position. Those people who belong to the offices of the state are the ones being accused of such crime.

Mar Roxas… A Goal Setter Beyond Economic Quandary
Inside the political fence, farther along in time of predicament, there exist
a man of substance, he is Mar Roxas, who is here for his endless quest for economic substantiality and revitalization of Independence. A man given a sand-full credit in restoring the true meaning and shape of freedom on what it is intended, expressed, and signified for. He relied much on his wit, believing independence’s key factor for destiny. As of status quo, independence is yet again threatened by political flaws and turncoats hence needed a conspiracy polisher. In contemporary, the government’s health itself is low and vulnerable to mayhem.
