ABS-CBN TAKIPSILIM: Twilight the Philippine Version?
Twilight fans in the Philippines: Rejoice — or not? Philippines’ biggest broadcasting corporation ABS-CBN is set to produce a local TV series of the hit movie Twilight based from Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight Book Series.
The tentative title of the local series is Takipsilim. I think its the Filipino translation for Twilight, haha. Im not really sure. I myself was shocked when the news first broke out from ABS-CBN online arm ABS-CBNNews.Com. In fact, Rayver Cruz and Shaina Magdayao are said to play the roles of the vampire Edward Cullen and Isabella Swan. A random fan of Twilight photoshopped the Twilight poster. See the image after the jump. ABS-CBN Chief Executive Officer Gabby Lopez was said to have bought the franchise from the foreign franchise owner and is planned to be serialized on television.
Filipino Twilight fans feedbacks are divided: Some were happy, but some were also disapppointed. Majority of those that were happy are the Rayver Cruz-Shaina Magdayao tandem loyalistas. While those that were unhappy about this are those that underestimates ABS-CBN’s capacity to produce a big TV series like Twilight.
